Student answer (Band 5.0)

There is no denying the fact that working at weekends has an important role in our health. While it is a commonly held belief that the working week should be shorter because it reduces stress, there is also an argument that opposed it . In my opinion, I consider that working short hours at weekend essential for our concentration and mental health.

To begin with people who are not working at picnic which have enough time to do housework or homework in others words they can spend more time with their family friends. In addition they have time to chat or contact those who are living abroad and build good relationships with their children. For instance research has shown that folk who do not work at effort at vacation they more actively and positively at work or study on workdays.

On the other hand it is good for the environment to keen it clean. it clean. it is possible to say that reducing emissions like carbon which come from cars also keeps the trees and flowers in good health moreover reduce the diseases that come from factories. For example the Netherlands has stopped workers from working on weekends as a result keep the environment as perfect as it can, can and now many old crowd are in good fitness and the trees and flowers grow everywhere.

In conclusion, despite public having different views, I believe that working shorter hours at expedition keep us refreshed and interesting for or industry or study. Furthermore it keeps our environment in good way and trees produce more oxygen

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of a shorter working week. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the first body paragraph touches on family benefits, the second paragraph attempts to link a shorter work week to environmental benefits, but the connection is tenuous and lacks logical depth. The examples provided, such as the reference to the Netherlands, are vague and not clearly explained. To improve, you should focus on providing more relevant, well-supported arguments that directly relate to the impact of working hours on employees and society, rather than making unsupported claims about environmental health.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is often disrupted by awkward phrasing and repetitive language. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', 'In conclusion'), they are sometimes used incorrectly or in a way that makes the text feel mechanical. For instance, the transition 'In addition they have time to chat or contact those who are living abroad' lacks a smooth connection to the previous sentence. Furthermore, the internal structure of sentences is often disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and often inappropriate for an academic essay. You frequently use words in the wrong context, such as 'picnic' instead of 'leisure time', 'effort' instead of 'work', and 'expedition' instead of 'the working week'. These errors significantly impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on using words that accurately convey your intended meaning and avoid using 'filler' words or terms that do not fit the formal tone required for IELTS Task 2.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('they more actively and positively'), sentence fragments, and incorrect word forms. Many sentences are poorly constructed, which makes them difficult to parse. For example, 'it clean. it clean. it is possible to say' shows a lack of control over basic punctuation and sentence structure. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often faulty. You should focus on mastering basic sentence structures and ensuring that your subjects and verbs agree before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
