Student answer (Band 5.5)
I am agree with the statement that a working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend.
I am on the same page, because I think there are a number of people who are working the whole week are not as much active as they should. These people have a large amount of work to done on the daily basis at their workplace. There is a statistical report that each year the people suffering from mental and physical diseases are increasing and most of those are people who work all the time and does not have any leisure time.
On the other hand, they don't have enough time to spend with their family and children which also leads to the disputes between the couples. People are not able to look after their children progress in academic as well as physical and mental growth. They spend all their week on the workplace and on weekend they are tired and just take rest. I feel that a long weekend give them enough time to rest and take care of families, cook for them, and having some physical activities to be fit and healthy.
My elder brother is working in a software house . he used to spend almost 5 days there and on the weekend he feel tired and lazy and never have enough time to spend with family which leads to family disputes and stress.
To conclude in, I am agree that a working week should be shorter and worker should have a longer weekend to spend time with their friends, partners, children and siblings. This can also be tackled by giving opportunities of remote work to help them feel relax and spending time with their loved ones.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating an agreement with the proposal for a shorter working week. The ideas are relevant, focusing on health and family dynamics. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the mention of a 'statistical report' is vague and lacks specific detail, which is a missed opportunity to strengthen the argument. While the position is consistent throughout, the supporting points could be more deeply explored with more sophisticated reasoning or broader societal implications to reach a higher band. The conclusion introduces a new idea regarding remote work, which is slightly tangential to the main argument about the length of the working week.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic attempt at cohesion using transition words like 'On the other hand' and 'To conclude in'. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the phrase 'To conclude in'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal structure of the paragraphs relies on simple sentence-to-sentence progression rather than a sophisticated weaving of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'work', 'people', and 'time'. Phrases such as 'on the same page' are informal and perhaps not ideal for an academic essay. While the meaning is always clear, there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic control. Errors in word choice, such as 'work to done' instead of 'work to be done', indicate a need for more attention to grammatical collocations and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'I am agree' (should be 'I agree'), 'people who are working... are not as much active' (should be 'are not as active'), and 'does not have any leisure time' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around periods and commas. While the meaning is never obscured, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band, as the control over complex structures is not yet consistent.
