Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of a shorter working week. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention the importance of family and personal time, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth or specific examples to support the claims. The essay touches on the impact on productivity, but this point is not fully explored. To improve, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point rather than restating the same general ideas about stress and family life. The response is somewhat simplistic in its approach to a complex socio-economic issue.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between sentences is often disjointed. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'However' and 'If', but the logical progression is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. The use of referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'do not care with their kida enough'. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the necessary transition to guide the reader smoothly through your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring clear topic sentences would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'work', 'people', and 'life'. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'make too much labour' instead of 'do household chores' or 'be benefecial' instead of 'be productive'. Spelling errors are frequent (e.g., 'shorther', 'energitic', 'costumers', 'reponsibility'), which occasionally makes the text difficult to follow. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise, topic-specific terminology and demonstrate better control over word forms and spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Peoples life not only tabout their jobs'), incorrect verb tenses ('they would be feel bored'), and missing articles or prepositions ('arrive a work'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the placement of commas and the use of the Turkish 'ı' instead of 'I'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the text from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors is essential.
