Student answer (Band 4.0)
Yes I agree about the working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend because when I talk about my working week I am hardworking student I enjoy reading different kind of book I do not have any time to do anything else because all the time I do work i do not have enough time when I talk about working is the thing a person who do work daily they do not have any more time to do any one else they do not have time because workers should have a longer weekend for example a person who is doing work in a factory they have to do work because working week should be shorter they have to do work because work is the best thing a person who can do it they can zero to hero about it because they improve creativity imagination thinking skill and to develop more and more confidence so that is the reason working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend because workers have not more they are extremely bad they don't work as a mind or heart so that's why workers should have a longer weekend because workers do not work daily or as a honestly they are dull they don't do anything work so that is the reason they have longer weekend they just enjoy and not work hard but a person who have honest they are work every day and honest and kindly or loyalty so that's why working week should be shorter as compared to the workers should have a longer weekend.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing agreement with the idea of a shorter working week. However, the development of ideas is extremely limited and repetitive. The arguments provided are often contradictory or unclear, such as the confusing transition between praising hard work and criticizing workers as 'extremely bad' or 'dull'. The essay lacks a clear structure, failing to provide coherent reasons or relevant examples to support the position. The ideas are not extended, and the overall argument remains underdeveloped throughout the text, making it difficult for the reader to follow the writer's logic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay lacks paragraphing, appearing as a single, long block of text. There is no logical progression of ideas; sentences are linked by repetitive use of 'because' and 'so that is the reason', which creates a mechanical and confusing flow. Referencing is often unclear, particularly with the use of pronouns like 'they', which makes it difficult to identify who or what is being discussed. The lack of cohesive devices and the absence of clear topic sentences mean that the information is not arranged coherently, significantly hindering the reader's ability to follow the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive, relying heavily on simple words like 'work', 'time', and 'good'. There is no attempt to use less common or academic vocabulary. Many phrases are used incorrectly, such as 'zero to hero about it' or 'work as a mind or heart', which are not standard English collocations. The limited range of vocabulary and the frequent misuse of words make the expression of ideas imprecise and often confusing. To improve, the student needs to focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to employment and work-life balance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response consists almost entirely of simple, run-on sentences with frequent grammatical errors. There is a lack of punctuation, which makes the text difficult to parse. Common errors include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'a person who do work'), incorrect word order, and missing articles. There is no evidence of complex sentence structures. The high frequency of errors, including basic syntax mistakes, often distorts the intended meaning and makes the text challenging to read. Significant improvement in basic sentence construction and punctuation is required.
