Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern era, people in a corporate life have to work for 5 days. Evan some companies are operational for 6 days. The timings in a corporate world are generally 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. There are many theorists which are agreeing on the elimination of work days due to health and emotional issues with employees and some arguing not to exclude working days.
According to the latest surveys in 2025, many health issues were reported in employees and the reason was extra working days which were demanded by the corporate companies. WHO given a detailed report on these reasons and stated that an employee can not work for 5 days a week. A great step was taken by china after these reports were discussed globally. They made a rest space within the working space for their employees. They have not excluded working days, instead they gave 2 hours sleeping break to their employees despite the workers were having 1 hour general break in their working hours. Many journalists worldwide praised them and mentioned that this will make a beneficial change in the employee life and they will be more efficient and active when working for them. Similarly in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, working days were limited to 4 days, and remaining one day is now given work from home so that workers can give their services while sitting in comfort zone.
In my opinion, china has changed the perspective of this whole debate, working hours are also reduced and no business damage is reported till now. According to me this should be a part of global companies, so that everyone can have their best while working for their companies and they will stay healthy also.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the merits of a shorter working week. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While you provide examples regarding China and Saudi Arabia, the connection to the core argument—whether the working week should be shorter—is occasionally blurred by focusing on 'rest spaces' or 'work from home' rather than the specific proposal of a shorter work week (fewer days). The position is clear, but the supporting arguments could be more robustly linked to the benefits of a reduced work week specifically, rather than general workplace improvements. To reach a higher band, ensure each example directly supports the central thesis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the transition 'Similarly in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia'. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the phrase 'when working for them' which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety and natural flow of linking words would enhance the overall coherence of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'corporate life' and 'efficient'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'theorists which are agreeing' (should be 'theorists who agree') and 'exclude working days' (where 'reduce' or 'shorten' would be more natural). The range is sufficient to communicate, but lacks the sophistication and precision required for higher bands. Focusing on collocations and more academic phrasing would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'Evan some companies' (Even), 'WHO given a detailed report' (WHO gave/has given), and 'despite the workers were having' (despite the workers having). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of subordinating conjunctions to create more complex, error-free sentences.
