Student answer (Band 5.5)
Undeniably, it is inevitable fact that in recent years, there is lot of discussion on working weeks should be decrease , although employee must have more long weekend. I strongly disaccord with that perspective because shorter holidays make people more lazy However, it has adverse impact on their expenses. So, I would like to explain my ideas in upcoming paragraphs.
To begin , there are several reasons why short working week will be not good for people. The first and predominant one reason is, it directly leads to financial impact on people expenses because working fewer hours does not make much money not only this but it also reduce income potential for employee by working less hours While, hurting the business revenue. Moreover, employee who are working hourly, if they get less hours which make their life hard because it is very difficult of them to manage their cost of living, paying their bills and save some money. Additionally, in a business perspective if they operate their business few days which ultimately hits sale targets, they will get lower sales and decreased profits. As a result, reducing days in work not beneficial for the society, people would be loss in their businesses and employee would be suffering.
Furthermore, there are some other reasons why workers should not have a long weekends. The first and foremost reason is, long weekend can affect people discipline , work ethic, productivity and dedication towards their work. when individual spend more time on their holidays instead of work , it often becomes difficult for them to be energetic and motivated for their work. In addition, it has a negative impact on employee communication skills , poor time management and poor driving skills. On the other hand, during working in different jobs, people learn lots of things like, patience, honesty, punctuality, problem-solving skills and many more things. which helps them in their whole life. if employee cannot work properly, it has impossible for them to get a good knowledge. As a consequence, adding more holidays affect people interpersonal skills and they become more lethargic.
In conclusion, a five days schedule for worker fosters continuing learning, accountability and strong skills which helps them for growth and development or for career advancement.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against a shorter working week. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding financial impact is mentioned multiple times without providing specific examples or nuanced analysis. The claim that longer weekends lead to 'poor driving skills' is illogical and weakens the overall argument. To improve, you should focus on developing two or three strong, distinct points rather than listing several loosely connected ideas. Ensure that your arguments are logical and directly support your main position throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and mechanical use of cohesive devices. Transitions like 'To begin' and 'Furthermore' are used, but the internal structure of sentences often lacks cohesion. For example, the sentence 'While, hurting the business revenue' is a fragment that disrupts the flow. Additionally, the use of referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms such as 'good', 'bad', and 'things', which restricts your ability to express complex ideas precisely. There are also several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'disaccord' instead of 'disagree' and 'inevitable fact' used incorrectly. While you attempt to use some academic vocabulary, the lack of precision and frequent errors in word formation hinder the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, focus on learning collocations and using more precise, topic-specific vocabulary related to employment and economics.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'there is lot of discussion'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, such as 'if employee cannot work properly, it has impossible for them to get a good knowledge.' You rely heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences often result in errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
