Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people argue that working days in a week should be shorter with a long weekend for workers. I partly agree with the statment , hence
This situation may have some advantage but in my opinion shoerter working week create more problem which I discuss further.
To start with, if the workers have short week it may be difficult for them to fulfill their tasks in time. Moreover increase work load may cause strees and consequenltly work- life balance will deteriorate. Secondely , if the workers have five working days it densly effetcs country economy. For Instance , in our capital city recently, governement anounce long weekend in result of which capital city economy suffers alot because all banks, officies and commercial areas are closed.
On the other side of argument it may also have some advantages. Firstly on long weekends workers can spent more quality time with their family through which they can release their stress and do some creative things with their kids.
It positively effects their social life and they have lot of time to perform their different household chores. For Instance my brother on long weekend take his M.phill classes and perform his extra persnol task regarding cooking and cleaning.
To conclude this ,long weekends have many negative impacts on our life in which most importnt are workers become lazy and loss their interest in work, secondely poor economy badly impact our country's progress. So, I disagree with the statment that workers have shorter working days with long weekend because of above mention points.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, although the stance is slightly contradictory. You state you 'partly agree' in the introduction but conclude by stating you 'disagree' with the statement. The ideas are relevant, such as the impact on productivity and the economy, but they are somewhat under-developed. For instance, the point about the economy is mentioned but lacks a deeper explanation of why a shorter week would necessarily lead to economic decline. To reach a higher band, ensure your position is consistent throughout the essay and provide more detailed, logical support for each of your main points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To start with', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude', which is helpful. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by mechanical errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'hence' being used incorrectly in the first paragraph. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the transition between the benefits and drawbacks. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea will significantly improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to express basic ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'work-life balance', 'economy', and 'commercial areas'. However, there are several spelling errors ('statment', 'shoerter', 'strees', 'consequenltly', 'densly', 'effetcs', 'persnol') and some word choice issues, such as 'take his M.phill classes' instead of 'attends'. To improve, focus on accuracy in spelling and using more precise collocations. Expanding your range to include more academic or sophisticated synonyms for common words will also help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('shorter working week create'), missing articles ('in result of which capital city economy'), and incorrect verb forms ('workers have short week'). While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading your work to correct these recurring errors, particularly regarding pluralization and article usage.
