In todays fast-paced world, many people spend a large proportion of their lives at work. some argue that the working week should be reduced so the employees can enjoy the weekends.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 142 words long. Consequently, the ideas are significantly underdeveloped. While you have introduced the topic and provided two main arguments regarding health and productivity, the lack of depth and the incomplete nature of the second paragraph prevent a full development of the task. To improve, you must expand your arguments with specific examples, counter-arguments, or further explanations to reach the required length and demonstrate a more comprehensive exploration of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, and you have used basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly' and 'Secondly' to signal your points. However, the progression of ideas is interrupted by the abrupt ending of the second paragraph. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'can relate feel well-rested employees', which disrupts the flow of the text. To improve, ensure that each paragraph is fully developed and that cohesive devices are used to link ideas smoothly rather than just acting as mechanical signposts.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat repetitive and lacks the range required for higher bands. Phrases like 'positive impact' and 'fast-paced world' are common but functional. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'make their mind free of stress' (better: 'alleviate stress') and 'invest others time' (better: 'spend their time'). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary related to labor economics or workplace psychology.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'For instead, an employees who have three-day weekend' (should be 'For instance, an employee who has a three-day weekend') and the fragmented sentence at the end of the second paragraph. Punctuation errors, such as the misplaced comma in 'enjoying ,exercise', also detract from the quality. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage will help improve your accuracy significantly.
