Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 141 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state a position, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack the necessary depth and supporting evidence required for an academic essay. The response is essentially a single body paragraph rather than a full essay structure. To improve, you must expand on your points with more detailed explanations and examples, and ensure you include a proper introduction and conclusion to fully address all parts of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no formal introduction or conclusion, and the response is presented as a single, poorly organized block of text. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices like 'firstly' and 'apart from it', the progression of ideas is disjointed. The lack of paragraphing makes the text difficult to follow. To improve, you should organize your essay into clear paragraphs: an introduction, two body paragraphs with distinct main ideas, and a conclusion. Use a wider variety of linking words to connect your sentences more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms such as 'reduce', 'workers', and 'stress'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'benifits', 'familiy', and 'survical' (likely meaning 'cervical'). The word choice is often imprecise, such as '12 hours duration' instead of '12-hour shifts'. To achieve a higher band, you need to use a broader range of vocabulary, including more precise academic collocations and synonyms, while ensuring accurate spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammar is characterized by frequent errors that occasionally impede communication. There are significant issues with punctuation, such as missing spaces after commas and periods, and inconsistent capitalization. Sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors, such as 'by reduce in the stress worker more and more focus on other activities'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are also inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb forms, and paying closer attention to punctuation and capitalization rules.
