Nowadays, In the modern world many people belive that the working week should be reduced to give employees longer weekend. I fully agree with this point because it can improve workers health and increase productivity.
To begin with, a longer weekend is very important for reduce stress level. In recent years, Many employees work long hours and feel tired both the physically and mentally. however, they have more free time, they can relax and recover from their busy schedule. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas regarding health benefits and productivity are relevant, though they are somewhat under-developed. For example, the mention of environmental benefits is introduced but not fully explained. The conclusion is overly brief and lacks a summary of the main points, which limits the development of the argument. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a fully explained example or logical progression rather than listing points. Overall, the response covers all parts of the task but lacks the depth required for a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'In Addition to, This not only...'. There are also issues with sentence-level cohesion, where fragments like 'More time to exercise, sleep well, and spend quality moments with family' appear without a subject or verb. While the overall progression is logical, the transition between ideas could be smoother. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would significantly enhance the flow of the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at using topic-specific vocabulary like 'burnout', 'anxiety', and 'productivity'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are occasional errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'reduce stress level' (should be 'reducing stress levels') and 'increased health' (should be 'improved health'). The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the message, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement, punctuation, and sentence fragments (e.g., 'In recent years, Many employees...'). The misuse of capital letters mid-sentence and the incorrect use of full stops within sentences (e.g., '...busy schedule. Gives workers...') impede the clarity of the writing. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevents the essay from reaching a higher band.
