Student answer (Band 5.0)
Yes I agree with the statement because the worker works through out the week they had only one day to spend time on themselfs. The weekend is the day where a worker can relax and spend time with his family and friends. They can enjoy there weekend by doing whatever they want to like giving time to their love ones, having fun with their friends going out with them, etc.
If the working week is a very tense days for a worker he work whole day and get tired. So he need a longer weekend to get relaxed and make himself stress less. I am also a person who do job and as well at the end of the week I got tired so badly that I do not have that kind of potential to do work om weekend. I just need a whole weekend day to relax and recharge myself so it is very important to get a whole day break on our weekend.
the working week should be shorter because a human is not a robot he can do work for a limited time period. The worker should get a longer weekend for himself to spend all the time with is colleague and go on a short trip with his family and friends.
If we talk about the disadvantages of getting a shorter working week our most of the work got pending and we are not capable to give as much as time to our work and it will take longer time period to complete our works.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by agreeing with the statement, but the development of ideas is limited. While you provide personal reasons for needing a longer weekend, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about work becoming 'pending' is a relevant counter-argument, but it is not fully explored or integrated into a cohesive argument. To improve, you should aim to provide more varied examples—perhaps discussing the impact on productivity or mental health at a societal level rather than just focusing on personal fatigue. The position is clear, but the supporting evidence needs more expansion to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your train of thought. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical. Phrases like 'If we talk about' or 'So he need' are used to transition between ideas, but there is a lack of sophisticated linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'nevertheless'). Additionally, the progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of transition signals to connect your sentences and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that flows logically into the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. You frequently use simple words like 'work', 'tired', and 'day'. While these words communicate your meaning, they do not demonstrate the range required for higher bands. There are also some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'stress less' (should be 'less stressed') and 'do job' (should be 'have a job' or 'work'). To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to employment and well-being, such as 'work-life balance', 'productivity', or 'rejuvenation'. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you avoid repeating the same terms throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the worker works', 'he work whole day') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and missing commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar structures prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and practice combining simple sentences into more complex ones using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions (e.g., 'although', 'because', 'which').
