Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people thinks that weekends for emplyees should he longer, and some have another view of that is should remains the same.

I totlay agree that the weekend shouldn't exceed more than two days. Humans were created to work and provides their essntial life needs.

Work has a positive impact on people, going out everyday meeting with others and discussing many topics improve their communication skills as well as adding many new ideas and knowledge that will reflect on each individual and the institute then the sosiety. All the good ideas dosent come from one individual only it came then it improved day by day and there might be a group who worked on it and improved it. thay did that while they were working togather not while they were relaxing at home during thier weekend.

Also it has a positive impact on their health.Giving a human value increases self steam prevnting them from deprression, some working area need pysical exerscise starting from walking to the bus station or to the car parking areas then walking arround the workplace for example medical people such as nurses are wlking all the day, need to lift patients, physically supports them some times and using their hands to do many procedure.

I absolutely agree with not to exceed more than two days of weekend every week which will reflect a pisitve impact on them as individual, on collegues and on the institutions ends with the sosiety where people can get their needs and things done.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against shortening the working week. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the benefits of work for communication and health, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about nurses walking is a specific example, but it does not fully explain why a shorter week would be detrimental to society at large. To improve, you should focus on expanding your arguments with more logical reasoning or broader societal implications rather than focusing solely on individual physical activity.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'also it has a positive impact' are used to transition, but the logical flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the pronoun 'it' is used repeatedly without a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and there are frequent spelling errors that occasionally impede readability, such as 'emplyees', 'totlay', 'sosiety', 'thay', and 'pysical'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with word choice, for example, 'self steam' instead of 'self-esteem'. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'institutions', the overall range is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. You need to focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic words and expanding your range of collocations to move into a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Some people thinks', 'ideas dosent come') and incorrect verb forms ('should remains', 'it came then it improved'). The sentence structures are generally simple, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors that affect clarity. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage, before attempting more complex structures.
