Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is a statement where it is believed that the employees should have less work days in a week with a prolonged weekend. While it is important to work and expand ones knowledge, experience, and the business itself, I believe having longer weekend is more beneficial for ones wellness.
Nowadays, majority of the people have packed and booked schedules where sometimes they don't even have time to feed themselves. Majority of this is because they are working individuals who either have a business, work a 9-5 corporate job or are balancing various freelance occupations. They spend majority of the time simply working rather than investing some of it into other fields of knowledge. For instance, an employee working 9-5 job uses their 8-9 hours everyday working for 5-6 days a week. This limits them to explore other fields of knowledge, creativity and wisdom. Thus, if we have longer weekends, these people will have more time which they can spend doing other things such as, learn different language, play sports, etc.
Alongside, extended weekend promotes ones social life, by giving them more time to interact with their families, friends, and new people. Human are social animal so it is crucial to maintain our social relations to promote mental and emotional well being. Studies done in Japan shows that many people who isolate themselves are likely to suffer from various mental illnesses and emotional breakdowns such as : social anxiety, anger issues, depression, and many more. Hence, prolonged weekend aids by bringing closer human realtinoships.
To conclude, I firmly believe that people should spend an equal amount to learn new things, and build social relations as much as they use their time to work.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. You have provided relevant arguments regarding personal development and social well-being to support your stance. The ideas are generally well-developed, though the explanation of the 'Japan study' is a bit vague and could have been more specific to strengthen the argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that all supporting examples are fully integrated into the flow of the argument rather than appearing as isolated points. Overall, the task is addressed adequately with a clear focus on the benefits of a shorter working week.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Nowadays', 'For instance', and 'To conclude' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as the dangling phrase at the very end of the text. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next would enhance the coherence. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow throughout the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'prolonged', 'corporate', and 'emotional well-being'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'human realtinoships' (spelling) and 'human are social animal' (singular/plural agreement). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the control is not always consistent. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that your vocabulary choices are consistently natural and accurate in the context of the argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the employees', 'a 9-5 job'), subject-verb agreement ('Human are social animal'), and punctuation (the colon usage before the list). These errors do not impede communication, but they do occur regularly. To achieve a higher score, you should aim for more error-free sentences and pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules like pluralization and article usage, which would allow your complex structures to shine more effectively.
