Student answer (Band 5.0)

In today time, everyone have a longer weekend for relax at home and for a trip plan with family or friends. So workers should have less day for working in month or week and they have more weekend. I completely agree with this view because when employee or worker doing hard work for company and bussiness and do also over time work for that. So they give longer weekend in a month. And they spent their time with family or enjoy their life best time with them.

On one hand, people doing hardwork to grow their company and bussiness. employee or worker doing over time when company has big project so they add lot efforts in their work for company from that they expect long weekend after that work. In addition, Company should also sponsor trip for their emplyoess. For example:- when the boss appriciate their work in company to giving weekend they had motivated and do extra work.

When worker have longer weekend they plan a trip with their family or friends so that time they are very close with their family and giving a whole day time to their children. After weekend when they back to work he is very excited to doing work for company and that is also benefits for them and also their company. For example:- During the longer weekend they spent their time with their children so they giving right information and teach new skill to their children.

In conclusion, i strongly believe that giving longer weekend is also benefit for workers and after enjoy weekend when they back they do hardwork for company so these also benefit for company.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of a shorter working week. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. While you mention benefits for both the worker and the company, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The points about 'sponsoring trips' or 'teaching new skills' are somewhat tangential to the core debate of working hours. To improve, focus on providing more logical, analytical arguments regarding productivity, work-life balance, and economic impacts, rather than listing general benefits. The response is somewhat simplistic in its approach to a complex socio-economic issue.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'So workers should have less day' is grammatically awkward and does not effectively link the preceding thought. There is also a lack of variety in linking words, with 'In addition' and 'For example' being used in a repetitive manner. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is often disjointed, making it difficult to follow the logical flow of the argument. Improving the use of referencing and transition signals would significantly enhance the clarity of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, which limits the expression of more complex ideas. Words like 'hardwork', 'bussiness', and 'company' are used frequently without variation. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'appriciate' and 'emplyoess', and word choice issues like 'doing hard work for company'. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including collocations and less common lexical items related to the topic of labor, employment, and productivity. Focus on using more precise terminology to convey your arguments with greater sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'everyone have', 'worker doing'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper tense consistency, such as 'when they back to work he is very excited'. The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences with little evidence of complex grammatical forms. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and pluralization, before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for basic errors is essential.
