Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 155 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments remain superficial and lack sufficient supporting evidence or examples. While the writer attempts to address both sides of the argument, the conclusion is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence. The position is clear, but the lack of depth and the failure to complete the task prevent a higher score. To improve, the writer must expand on each point with specific examples and ensure the essay structure is fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, using basic transition words like 'moreover' and 'on the other hand'. However, the progression of ideas is hindered by the lack of development and the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is present but the internal structure of the paragraphs is weak, with sentences often feeling disconnected. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall flow is interrupted by the abrupt ending. Improving the use of cohesive devices and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms such as 'good', 'bad', 'work', and 'company'. There are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'employ' instead of 'employee' and 'stress less' instead of 'stress-free'. The range is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to expand their vocabulary to include more precise, academic terminology and focus on correct word forms and collocations to convey their meaning more accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('its have a positive impact', 'he work more actively'), tense consistency, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain errors that occasionally impede readability. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and punctuation is inconsistent. To improve, the writer should focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb forms and sentence construction, before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect pluralization is also essential.
