Student answer (Band 6.0)
I definitely agree with this statement as its gives a positive effect on each worker working in an industry.
Which means having a longer weekend or working shorter period of time in a week would help the worker relax more whether they are doing physical or mental work.
Working for a shorter period of time will help a worker work more efficiently and actively , they will get free from the stress and feel more motivated and refreshed which will also help them to be more productive. Working more than their shift hours and on weekends keep them in hot water , they also do not get personal time or time to spend with their families. For example, I also work in as an employee in multinational company , we often get work on weekends or sometimes we have to work thick and thin for more than our shift timings to complete that tasks which also drains our energy and mind. This also make us under the weather sometimes but still next day we have to get up and work without even getting the proper break for ourselves most of the time our time also goes in travelling to reach the office and to get back home.
Moreover, it is also for the workers doing field jobs. They need to run from one place to another in order to complete their jobs on time, which makes their body energy drained like getting stuck in traffics ,going from one state to another or travelling 10-12 hours per day. Some workers also face health issue because of working more than their shift timings .
So, I would personally be on cloud nine if this statement comes true as workers needs a long weekend or shorter working hour per week.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response mostly addresses the task by presenting an argument in favor of shorter workweeks and longer weekends. The author provides personal examples and logical reasoning to support their view, though some points could be explained in more depth. For instance, the discussion on health issues from overworking is briefly mentioned but lacks engagement with broader implications. Overall, the essay has clear direction, aligning with the task requirements, though there’s room for enhanced argumentation and elaboration on examples. Score: 7.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The coherence and cohesion of the response are generally effective; the writer uses paragraphs to present different aspects of the argument. However, certain transitions between ideas could be smoother. For example, phrases such as "Moreover" and "which means" initiate new thoughts but could benefit from clearer connections with preceding sentences. A more cohesive structure and use of linking words would enhance readability and overall flow, helping ideas to connect more clearly. Score: 6.5.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The lexical resource is fairly good, exhibiting a variety of vocabulary relevant to the topic. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and informal language, such as "on cloud nine" and "in hot water," which may not be appropriate for an academic essay. While some correct terminology is used, replacing repetitive phrases and errors like "doing a field job" with clearer terms could elevate the writing quality. More variances in expressions and synonyms would increase the impact. Score: 6.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
Grammatical range and accuracy reflect a mixture of simple and complex sentences, with some effective structure. However, there are noticeable grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreements (e.g., "workers needs" should be "workers need") and awkward constructions, which slightly impede clarity. More attention to sentence structure and correcting minor mistakes would improve overall grammatical accuracy. Overall, while the writer demonstrates an adequate command of grammar, perfection and sophistication are lacking. Score: 6.0.
Overall feedback
Your essay effectively presents a clear argument for shorter working weeks, supported by personal experiences that make your points relatable. It is commendable how you express your personal perspective and connect broader implications to your experience. However, improving the overall coherence by enhancing your transitions and structuring your argument more fluidly can strengthen your essay significantly. Moreover, increasing the variety of vocabulary and correcting grammatical errors will enhance clarity and cohesion. Focus on polishing sentence structures and ensure formal language to meet academic standards.
