Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is certainly true that the working week should be shorter and workers should have longer weekend. I strongly agree with this statement and discuss my opinion this essay

To commence with, working on daily basis put metal pressure on worker because every individual has there own capacity to work. Some individuals can not work full week. Therefore, they are start taking strees of work. Which leads to in efficiency in work. Sometimes work get overload work and find it difficult to complete the task. Which is detrimental for both company and worker. For instance, supervisor rapidly start giving work to their employ and employ skip their break time during work.after sometime employ may feel sick and can not complete the on time given by supervisor.

Moreover, during long working week employ may not get time to spend with their family.Which cause some dispute between family. Workers have several responsibilities about their families such as children education and funds arrangements for future. If they work regularly they fail to complete their responsibilities. Which creates issues in their life. As if they get longer weekend they complete their responsibilities effortlessly

In conclusion,it essential to have longer weekend because it provide relief to worker mind and to efficiency in work which is profitable for both company and employ. Additionally, in longer weekend employs get time to spend with their families and complete their responsibilities on time. However, longer working week also leads to put strees on worker mind. Therefore worker find it difficult to complete task

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. While you mention mental pressure and family responsibilities, the arguments are not fully extended with sophisticated reasoning or concrete, real-world examples. The conclusion also introduces a repetitive summary that does not add new insight. To reach a higher band, focus on providing more detailed explanations of how a shorter week specifically impacts productivity or societal well-being, rather than simply stating that it is beneficial. The ideas are relevant but remain at a surface level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'As if they get longer weekend' is grammatically awkward and does not function well as a logical connector. There are also issues with sentence-level cohesion, such as the frequent use of sentence fragments starting with 'Which' (e.g., 'Which leads to in efficiency in work'). While the overall progression of ideas is discernible, the lack of smooth transitions between sentences and the repetitive structure of the arguments hinder the flow of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'metal pressure' (likely intended as 'mental pressure') and 'in efficiency' (should be 'inefficiency'). You rely on basic vocabulary and repeat terms like 'worker', 'employ', and 'task' frequently. To improve, you should aim to use more varied synonyms and collocations related to the workplace and work-life balance, and pay closer attention to spelling and word formation to ensure your meaning is always clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'supervisor rapidly start giving'), incorrect article usage, and sentence fragments. Many sentences are simple in structure, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors in punctuation or clause connection. For example, 'Which cause some dispute between family' is a fragment that should be integrated into the preceding sentence. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subjects and verbs agree, and avoiding the misuse of relative clauses as independent sentences.
