Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often argued that the working week should be briefer and workers should have a extender weekend has become a major issue in modern society, and people have different opinion about it. In my opinion, I strongly agree with this statement because it has more positive effects on society.
The begin with, one of the main reasons behind this is that batter work life balance, which plays significant role in this situation. This means that worker have more time for family, friends and rest. For example , in many countries people are already experiencing this situation in their routine activities. Therefor, it is clear that this factor strongly supports the given opinion.
An other important point to consider is that higher productivity, which also contributes to this issue in a meaningful way . In other words, more reset can reduce stress and helping employee work efficiently For instance, many people nowadays work in TATA company and every weekend they give it to break . As a result, longer weekend gives workers more time to relax and recover. It become evident that this trend is beneficial.
In conclusion, although some people believe that it is not important, I strongly believe that because it is more practical and realistic.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of a shorter working week. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the development of ideas. While the main points—work-life balance and productivity—are introduced, they are not sufficiently extended or supported with detailed analysis. The example regarding the TATA company is vague and does not clearly illustrate how a shorter week specifically impacts productivity in that context. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more depth and ensure the essay meets the minimum length requirement to fully develop your points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'In other words,' and 'In conclusion.' However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. For instance, the transition 'The begin with' is grammatically incorrect. Additionally, some sentences lack logical flow, such as the connection between the TATA company example and the broader argument about productivity. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help create a smoother, more professional flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band score. There are several instances of incorrect word choice or word formation, such as 'briefer' (instead of 'shorter'), 'extender' (instead of 'extended'), 'batter' (instead of 'better'), and 'reset' (instead of 'rest'). These errors occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on learning collocations and ensuring you use the correct form of words. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic or topic-specific terms would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that impede clarity. Examples include 'worker have' (subject-verb agreement), 'it has more positive effects on society' (vague reference), and 'helping employee work' (incorrect verb form). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas (e.g., 'For example ,'). The sentence structure is often repetitive, and the lack of control over basic grammar significantly impacts the overall quality of the writing. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct verb tenses is essential.
