Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the contemry world, it should be shorter working week with workers having long weekend. Usually , working week include Monday to Friday and weekend includes Saturday , Sunday but , it can be changed which is discuss in second paragraph.
Yes, I agree with this working week should be shorter and workers having long weekend by changing the time of working. Usually, workers work for 8 hours per day and in week means five days equal to forty hour's if these workers increase their working time to 10 hours instead of 8 hours so workers complete their work in just 4 days and having a long weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
It's relevant example is my friend he work in a software house from last three years after complete his degree from LUMS . In his software house where he work now he work just four days in a week instead of 5 days he has a long weekend so that's why it's good in my thinking because my friend work as a intern in an other software house but there he work five days in a week ha having short weekend just Saturday and Sunday so he just sleep all the days their is no time to do some thing but now he has a long weekend in his new software house there is a lot of time to do some tasks like some pending work or plan a holiday trip with family and friends.
At last my opinion to every institute and firm of work to reschedule their schedule and work 10 hours per day instead of 8 hours and consider just 4 working days and other days as a long weekend that's good.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of a shorter working week. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you provide a personal example regarding a friend, the argument lacks depth and fails to explore broader implications, such as the impact on productivity, mental health, or economic consequences. The response is somewhat repetitive, and the explanation of the '10-hour day' model is simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should expand your arguments with more sophisticated reasoning and consider counter-arguments or wider societal benefits to provide a more balanced and comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often mechanical and lacks sophistication. You rely on basic transitions like 'At last' and 'Usually', which do not always create a smooth logical progression. The referencing is sometimes unclear; for instance, the transition between the general argument and the personal example is abrupt. Additionally, the punctuation is inconsistent, particularly with the placement of commas and spaces, which disrupts the reading flow. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that links back to the main thesis.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, often relying on simple phrasing such as 'good', 'work', and 'time'. There are several spelling errors, such as 'contemry' (contemporary) and 'intern' (intern), and some awkward collocations like 'firm of work'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To achieve a higher score, you need to incorporate more academic vocabulary and topic-specific terminology related to employment, labor laws, and work-life balance. Avoid repeating the same words in close proximity; instead, use synonyms and more precise descriptive language to convey your points effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'working week include', 'he work'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, such as the misuse of apostrophes in 'hour's'. The range of grammatical structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with some attempts at complex ones that are often faulty. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and practicing the use of complex structures like conditional sentences or relative clauses to add variety and accuracy to your writing.
