Student answer (Band 5.5)
Now a days work pressure is very high. People work to fulfil their basic requirements and to educate their children moreover to achieve a healthy lifestyle. Most of our population is belong to working class. Working hours may depends upon the type of job people have, like many people have a short week. Moreover, many people having a long working week.
In the one hand, as many People believe that working week should be shorter and remaining work should be shift to the weekend. It is a better approach but there are some consequences like if work is shift to the weekend then people do not have any off day left. People work throughout the week and at the end only weekend is free, so they can spend time with their family and children. Moreover, if people also work on weekend then they do not have any free day left.
On the other hand, Work is very important to become a successful person, but heavy work pressure is not good for a person's mental health. Therefore, if working week becomes shorter then they should be able to have some good sleep at night and the next morning they can go to their work with a refreshing and happy mind. In that case their whole weekend becomes easy. In addition, they can easily pay attention to their work and also on their health. But in this situation their families have to suffer.
In my opinion, it is better to develop a simple approach like people should work on weekdays and get their weekends off. So that they can enjoy with their family and having a quality time together. Moreover they can also go for picnic or either having some rest at home.
In conclusion, People also need some peace and space from work. Therefore, is should be better to work on weekdays and relax on weekends.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the pros and cons of a shorter working week. However, the position is somewhat inconsistent. While you initially discuss the benefits of a shorter week, the conclusion and body paragraphs seem to argue for the status quo (working weekdays and resting on weekends). The ideas are relevant but lack depth; for example, the argument about 'consequences' if work is shifted to the weekend is repetitive and lacks specific examples or logical development. To improve, ensure your position is clearly stated in the introduction and maintained consistently throughout the essay, providing more detailed explanations for your claims.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is often hindered by confusing transitions. Phrases like 'In the one hand' (incorrect idiom) and 'Moreover' are used frequently, sometimes inappropriately, which makes the flow feel mechanical. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where it is difficult to follow the argument regarding shifting work to the weekend. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices, they are not always used with flexibility or precision. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'work is very important' and 'good sleep'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'most of our population is belong to working class' (grammatically incorrect) and 'go for picnic'. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to employment and lifestyle, and pay closer attention to collocations. For instance, instead of 'work pressure', consider 'occupational stress' or 'work-life balance'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Working hours may depends', 'population is belong') and incorrect preposition usage ('attention to their work and also on their health'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence construction, such as the fragment 'moreover to achieve a healthy lifestyle'. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and refining the use of complex sentence structures to ensure they are error-free.
