Student answer (Band 5.0)
There has been some debate that workers required large weekend rather than longer working days. I disagree with this statement because of lack of punctuality, lose of interest, and inability to do work.
On the one hand, the working week should be long as it is because most of the people become leisure and unable to do their work sufficiently. Firstly, a long week can enhance abilities in a person because he learn different things from his job. A shorter week days can lose their interest into getting high-paying positions. For instance, most of the people who pay meticulous attention on their work they become smart and also become punctual. Furthermore, working week should be extended because people get more interest in achieving their goals. They do not become lazy and unable in their work routine. when people do their jobs and spend more hours on their work, as a result, they will renowned.
on the other hand, most of the people are in favour of spending leisure time and want to enhance their off days. Because of their doing other task and getting rid from their busy schedule. Moreover, people who spend their free life and not addicted to do hard work they like short week. People want to spend a large weekend because of spending a quality time with their family. As a result individuals losing their relation in doing their long hours work. For instance, most of the people are losing their loved ones because they give quality time to their jobs.
In conclusion, people who want to spend short week they can lose their interest in their jobs. However, I largely agree that our youth should provide their most time to their jobs and should do their work with punctuality and honesty.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against a shorter working week. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent and often lacks clarity. For instance, the argument that a shorter week leads to a 'lose of interest' is asserted but not logically explained or supported with convincing evidence. The reasoning is frequently repetitive, and some points, such as the claim that long hours make people 'renowned', are not clearly linked to the prompt. To improve, you should focus on developing two or three strong, distinct arguments rather than listing several underdeveloped points. Ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly supports your thesis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'On the one hand', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion', they are sometimes used mechanically or inappropriately, such as starting a paragraph with 'on the other hand' when the preceding paragraph did not establish a clear contrast. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow your line of reasoning. Improving the use of linking words to show logical relationships between sentences would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'do work', 'get', and 'people', which restricts your ability to express complex ideas precisely. There are also several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'most of the people become leisure' and 'getting rid from their busy schedule'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and collocations, such as 'professional development', 'work-life balance', or 'productivity', and ensure you are using words in their correct grammatical context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'he learn different things'), incorrect word forms (e.g., 'a shorter week days'), and missing articles or prepositions. While the meaning is usually discernible, these errors are persistent and occur in almost every sentence, which prevents the writing from being considered error-free. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of plural/singular nouns, before attempting more complex structures.
