Student answer (Band 5.5)
The weekend is a very special time of the week for many of the working individuals or the students. The time duration of the weekend feels shorter while comparing to the working days of the week. As per many people weekend should be longer.
As per my opinion, government should increase the number of weekend days to atleast 3 days a week. This can bring several benefits that will result in many different ways. For instance- an employee working in a multi national company who's working 8 hours a day for long 5 days in a week and do not take rest in between, so it can cause a stress and a drop in his working level, not only him but also the employees like him. For the benefit the company itself , they should provide a long weekend and services which keeps them motivated towards the work.
There are some disadvantages also of getting a long weekend. First is people will become lazy and less motivated towards their work. For instance- a student at a university, if he gets a 3 days long weekend every week, then he will not study that much which can leads towards a bad future for our country. If weekend will be longer then people can spend more time with their families and friends.
In conclusion, it can be a great decision to increase the number of days in the weekend so that individuals can take some rest and not just work and study all the time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of a shorter working week. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention benefits for employees and companies, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The counter-argument regarding potential laziness is introduced but not fully explored or effectively refuted to strengthen your position. To improve, ensure each paragraph provides a distinct, well-supported point rather than general statements. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the points made in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'As per my opinion' or 'For the benefit the company itself'. The transition between the advantages and disadvantages is abrupt. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'conversely', 'consequently') to connect sentences and ideas more fluidly. Ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing, such as 'very special time' and 'bad future'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'time duration of the weekend' and 'drop in his working level'. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'work-life balance', 'productivity', 'professional burnout', or 'economic implications', and focus on using words in their correct collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'while comparing to' (should be 'compared to'), 'as per many people' (should be 'according to many people'), and 'which can leads' (should be 'which can lead'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of hyphens and commas. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Proofreading for common errors like these will help improve the overall accuracy of your writing.
