Student answer (Band 6.0)
With the changing dynamics of the modern world, there has been a noticeable shift in people's attitude towards the working hours. A nuanced issue may emerge about the office weeks to be shorter and the weekends for the workers to be longer. I agree to this to some extent as it includes both the sides of a coin. The most prominent reason of agreeing is reduced burnout and less work stress. While, the reason of disagreeing is that it can cause a company to fail due to less work being done for the profits.
To commence with the statement about the working weeks to be shorter and the weekends for workers to be longer. The most pivotal reason for agreeing is less burnout and lesser decision fatigue. As a employee gets longer weekend, they may be able to recharge their energy to work again. Therefore, shorter working weeks can helps them reduce the stress caused due to decision fatigue, as an office worker has to make a dozens of decisions throughout the week. Thus, longer weekends gives them chance to reduce work stress and helps them make better decisions.
Conversely, an opposing view can also be made against the longer weekends and shorter working weeks, as this can reduce the companies profits and may lead to a failure. As there would be shorter working weeks, this can reduce the work for the economy of the company, leading to a major failure for the representation of a business in the market. Therefore, such decisions can also lead to loss of opportunities for an employer, an employee and the market.
To conclude, although such trend can reduce the decision fatigue and mental stress, however, it can lead to a failure of a business, leading to a cautious harm to everyone surrounding them. Therefore, it is more concerning argument rather than a beneficial one.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the argument. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention 'burnout' and 'decision fatigue', these points are not fully extended with concrete examples or logical depth. The position is clear, but the conclusion is slightly contradictory; you state you agree to some extent, but the final sentence suggests the idea is more 'concerning' than 'beneficial', which weakens the clarity of your stance. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more detailed explanation of why the argument holds true, rather than repeating the same points in different words.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Conversely', and 'To conclude'. However, some of these are used mechanically or slightly inappropriately, such as starting a sentence with 'While, the reason of disagreeing...' which is a fragment. Additionally, the transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing or repetitive sentence structures. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they connect complete thoughts will enhance the coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'dynamics', 'nuanced', 'pivotal', and 'fatigue'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'cautious harm' (which is not a standard collocation) and 'representation of a business'. Some phrasing is also slightly repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'shorter working weeks' and 'longer weekends'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding redundant phrasing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated synonyms for 'good' or 'bad' effects would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is a positive step. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. For example, 'shorter working weeks can helps them' (subject-verb agreement error) and 'a dozens of decisions' (article error). There are also issues with sentence fragments, such as 'While, the reason of disagreeing is that it can cause a company to fail...'. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to keep the score in the 6.0 range. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage.
