Student answer (Band 5.5)
Labor days of week should be lesser and laborers should have more off days.
I kind of go along with this statement however there could be some exceptional cases in this matter. This topic is very subjective according to a certain company needs, country's overall progress and jobholder's requests. Working hard is one of the main principles of success. It is very important for people to struggle for their own well-being.
in developed and progressive countries, large firms are not required t work full week because they are not in struggling condition. They can afford to have a longer weekend. In underdeveloped countries , where there is so much room for striving, off days should not be more than two days. Furthermore , it is human nature that he cannot sit freely for a longer period of time if he has been habitual of earning his own money. If worker are demanding a longer weekend and the owner of company is opposing this demand , what he can do is he can give them a half day before the actual weekend. Middle grounds are often provide better solutions to problems.
Moreover, for people doing corporate jobs of nine to five, longer weekend is a good option for them because they can also work remotely. Other than that, they are more likely to exhaust from same daily routines and this turns into frustration which is injurious to their mental health. if they get more holidays, they can engage themselves in any physical activity like playing sports which can be beneficial to them. On the other hand, if somebody is doing a factory work and they are needed to be physically present there, more off days can become an issue for them because this can accumulate their daily work.
In conclusion, this matter is very subjective.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the pros and cons of a shorter working week. However, the position is somewhat inconsistent; you state you 'kind of go along with this statement' but then present a balanced view that leans towards subjectivity rather than a clear, sustained argument. While you touch on relevant points like mental health and economic development, the development of these ideas is limited. For example, the point about 'underdeveloped countries' is mentioned but not fully explored in relation to the core question. To reach a higher band, ensure your position is clearly stated in the introduction and maintained consistently throughout the essay, with each paragraph providing deeper analysis rather than just listing scenarios.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'what he can do is he can give them a half day'. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. While the overall progression is coherent, the use of cohesive devices is not always flexible or natural, which limits the score to a 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on basic phrasing like 'struggling condition' and 'do not be more than two days'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'Labor days of week should be lesser' (should be 'fewer') and 'habitual of earning' (should be 'accustomed to'). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to labor economics and workplace dynamics, and ensure you use words in their correct grammatical context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'If worker are demanding' (subject-verb agreement), 'they are more likely to exhaust' (should be 'be exhausted'), and 'this can accumulate their daily work' (incorrect usage of 'accumulate'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces before commas and capitalization issues. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct verb forms would significantly improve your accuracy.
