Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention benefits like family time and reduced transport costs, the arguments are brief and lack depth. The counter-argument regarding spending money on 'Jan foods' (likely junk food) is somewhat unclear and not fully integrated into the overall argument. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more detailed explanation and a concrete example that directly supports your main point. The conclusion repeats your position but introduces new, slightly confusing ideas about 'working pressure' that were not previously discussed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Tuning to On the other hand' is a confusing transition, and 'as result' is missing a subject or proper linking structure. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between the professor's opinion and the argument is loosely established. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') more naturally and ensure that each sentence flows logically from the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation that occasionally impede clarity. For instance, 'social benefacial' should be 'socially beneficial', and 'high benefacals' is grammatically incorrect. You also use 'financials' incorrectly as a noun to mean money spent. There is some repetition of basic words like 'long time' and 'weekend'. To improve, try to use more precise terminology related to the topic, such as 'work-life balance', 'expenditure', or 'psychological well-being', and pay closer attention to word forms (e.g., using adjectives vs. nouns).
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'long weekends are high benefacals'), missing articles, and incorrect preposition usage (e.g., 'cost to working'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma splices and run-on sentences. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors makes the writing feel unpolished. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your score.
