Student answer (Band 6.5)
Many people argue that the working days should be shorter and workers should have longer weekends. I strongly agree with this point of having long weekends, because it will bring us out of many life problems.
Firstly, people who are doing jobs for the whole week and have only one day off are facing health problems. Like muscle pain because of long sittings, eyesight weakness because of non-stop use of computer screens, hair fall as a result of stress, anxiety, depression. People have less time to engage with extracurricular activities, do exercise, hobbies and have less time to spend with family. All these environmentally time-bound jobs lead people far from their normal life. They become robots. They go through this grind every day. In the end, they have nothing in their hands nor health, children and wealth etc.
On the other hand, the people who work only four days a week and have a long weekend. These people show excellent results in their working sector, personal life and social life. They will play an essential role in economic growth. For example, on the weekend, people have outings with families, it boosts their energy level, freshens their minds, removes their office work stress. As a result, they have become productive, they have generated new ideas to resolve office-related issues. When the mind is fresh, people have their clear thoughts, then they can achieve success in their work and it also impacts their personal life.
As a result, I came with the idea of longer weekends. This gives people free time, in which they try new things, explore their personality, invent new technologies and innovative ideas. In the future, these things benefit the local public and also play an important role in economic growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt clearly, maintaining a consistent position throughout. The ideas are relevant, particularly the discussion on health impacts and productivity. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive, and the arguments could be more nuanced. For instance, the claim that longer weekends lead to 'inventing new technologies' is a broad generalization that lacks specific evidence or logical connection. While the task is addressed, the supporting arguments would benefit from more depth and less reliance on lists of symptoms or generic outcomes to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'As a result', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the flow between sentences within paragraphs is occasionally disjointed. For example, the sentence 'They go through this grind every day' feels abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the phrase 'I came with the idea of longer weekends' in the conclusion, which does not effectively synthesize the preceding arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'extracurricular' and 'innovative', but the range is somewhat limited. Some word choices are imprecise or unnatural, such as 'environmentally time-bound jobs' or 'working sector'. There is also a tendency to repeat simple structures and basic vocabulary, which prevents the essay from demonstrating a more sophisticated or flexible command of language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the working days', 'the people'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence fragments (e.g., 'Like muscle pain because of long sittings'). Some sentences are poorly constructed, such as 'In the end, they have nothing in their hands nor health, children and wealth etc.' These errors occur frequently, though they rarely impede the reader's understanding of the main points.
