Student answer (Band 6.5)
Many people argue that the working days should be shorter and workers should have longer weekends. I strongly agree with this point of having long weekends, because it will bring us out of many life and work related challenges.
Firstly, people who are doing jobs for the whole week and have only one day off are facing health issues. Their health is detoriating, like muscle fatigue because of long sittings, eyesight weakness because of non-stop use of computer screens, hair fall as a result of stress, anxiety, depression. People have less time to engage with extracurricular activities, do exercise, hobbies and have minimal time to spend with their family. All these environmentally time-bound jobs lead people far from their normal life. They become robots. They go through this grind every day. In the end, they have nothing in their hands nor health, children and wealth etc.
On the other hand, the people who work only four days a week and have a long weekend. These people show fabulous results in their working sector, personal and social life. They will play an essential role in economic growth as well. For example, on the weekend, people have outings with families, it boosts their energy level, freshens their minds, realses their office work stress. As a result, they have become productive, they have generated new ideas to resolve office-related issues.
As a result, I came with the idea of longer weekends. This gives people free time, in which they try new things, explore their personality, invent new technologies and innovative ideas. In the future, these things benefit the local public and also play an important role in economic growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position in favor of shorter working weeks. The ideas are relevant and generally well-supported, particularly the discussion on health impacts and economic productivity. However, the development is somewhat uneven; the second paragraph lists many health issues but lacks a cohesive argument, and the final paragraph is slightly repetitive of the third. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed main idea rather than listing points. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of analysis could be improved by providing more specific examples or nuanced reasoning regarding the feasibility of such a change.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'As a result' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive, particularly the use of 'As a result' at the start of the final two paragraphs. Additionally, the referencing within sentences is sometimes slightly unclear, such as in the phrase 'All these environmentally time-bound jobs', where the connection to the previous points is a bit forced. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'extracurricular', 'productive', and 'innovative'. There are some instances of slightly unnatural word choices or minor errors, such as 'detoriating' (spelling: deteriorating), 'realses' (spelling: releases), and 'working sector' (better: 'professional life' or 'workplace'). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the precision is occasionally lacking. To improve, focus on learning collocations—words that naturally go together—and ensure that your spelling is accurate, as these small errors can distract the reader and limit your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'people who are doing jobs... are facing' (should be 'people who do jobs... face'), 'I came with the idea' (should be 'I came up with the idea'), and issues with article usage and pluralization. Some sentences are slightly fragmented or awkward, such as 'In the end, they have nothing in their hands nor health, children and wealth etc.' Improving your control over verb tenses and prepositions will help you achieve a higher band, as the current error frequency is noticeable.
