Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is argued that the working week should be shorter and the weekend should be longer. I totally disagree with it because two holidays is already enough to manage other activities and for rest.
Second main reason is workload management.
Workload management is the most important factor of all the works demanding to finish the work on time and preparing for the next work already five days are hardly enough to deal with deadlines, weekends cause delays like your work gets 2 late.
So by shortening the weekdays it will be hard to deliver timely unncessary; delays will be caused because of continous weekends.
Another reason is weekends provide more than enough time to tackle with other activities. In most part of the countries two day weekends are obersved provding enough time for the workers to get rest and to cover up their other responsibilites like house stuff and all.
If some countries have one day as weekends like in Asia, part Pakistan India observe one day weekend only sunday it is very short so only these kind of country need to increase these by just one day.
So if we talk about the whole world as major part has two days holidays so it more than enough no more needed.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position against shortening the working week, the arguments provided are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence or examples. The points regarding workload management and the sufficiency of current two-day weekends are mentioned but not explored in depth. To improve, you must expand on your reasoning with more detailed explanations and specific examples to ensure the response is fully developed and meets the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is limited and occasionally mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'Second main reason' and 'Another reason'. Some sentences are difficult to follow due to awkward phrasing, such as 'your work gets 2 late'. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that flows logically into the next, creating a more cohesive argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. There are several instances of imprecise word choice and informal phrasing, such as 'house stuff and all' and 'all the works'. Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'unncessary', 'obersved', and 'provding'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise, academic vocabulary and ensure correct spelling. Expanding your range of collocations and avoiding informal, conversational language will help demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the English language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement, missing articles, and awkward sentence construction, for example, 'only these kind of country need to increase these'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with run-on sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structure and proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and article usage. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will also help improve your score.
