Student answer (Band 5.5)
The working week would be shorter and employers should have a long weekend. In recent time technology expanding more and more business so it might affect on companies. Whereas, I fully disagree with the statement.
Firstly, if working week hours will be cut off from regular one then it difficult of companies owners to run the business. For instance, collage professors will come for 2 hours instead of 5 hours then it affects on students because they can not focus on all the division. Secondly, if employee working hours is decrease then business will not expand and which impact on staff salaries. For example, if company’s growth rate is falling down then it hards to pay the stipends.
Furthermore, if they having long weekend but they does not get sufficient money then how they spent well their weekend. So I think working hour should be increase instead of decrease and then after if they giving long weekend then it will be balancing for both employer and employee. For example, if working hours will be 10 or 11 in 4 days a week and 3 days holiday then people should not suffer with salary crises and they get three days rest instead of two days.
In conclusion, the working hour should be less and worker should have little bit longer weekend which is totally unfair with employers and also it get difficult to survive in such a growing environment. Therefore, It is necessary to work more in present era. For that I disagree with the statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against a shorter working week. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the argument regarding economic impact is relevant, the explanation is often repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the example of college professors is somewhat confusing and does not clearly link to the broader economic argument. The conclusion contradicts the body paragraphs by suggesting the working week should be 'less', which creates confusion regarding your actual stance. To improve, ensure that your supporting points directly reinforce your thesis and avoid contradictory statements in your summary.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the misuse of 'Whereas' at the start of the essay and 'and which impact' in the second paragraph. The logical progression between sentences is sometimes hindered by grammatical errors, making the flow feel disjointed. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly when using pronouns like 'they' without a clear antecedent. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help create a smoother transition between your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple terms like 'business', 'work', and 'money' throughout the text. There are also instances of incorrect word choice, such as 'stipends' to refer to general salaries and 'division' when referring to a curriculum or course load. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary related to economics and labor, and work on using collocations more naturally to express your ideas with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'if they having', 'they does not'), missing articles, and incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'if working week hours will be cut off'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of these errors limits the score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the quality of your writing.
