Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's world, there is a general debate that the working days in a week should be reduced and the employees should have a longer weekend. I agree with the statement to a certain extent and I beleive that it has the potential to bring significant positive changes in the society.
First of all, it is widely considered that if you entertain your workers well and take care of their well being, they will be loyal with the work and always give their best. If the working days in a week are shortened, they would have a sense of relief and satisfaction for the long weekend and they would be giving their best in the working days instead of staying lazy. For instance, I have read about the research made in one of the Scandinavian countries where they reduced the working days in a week and they saw a significant rise in the outcomes and productivity. Working were enjoying their work and paying more attention in their specific tasks, which in the longer run is beneficial for the company instead of making them work five days a week where they never show their full potential.
Secondly, we can see there is an overall rise in stress level and anxiety among the individual which is probably caused by hectic wrok routines in most cases. If the workers are allowed to have a long weekend, it will give them a chance to spend more time with their families or do whatever they enjoy the most. This way, it would be great to improve health and mood overall which would also help them focus and enhance their skills when they are at work.
In conclusion, I would say there are number of reasons why a shorter working week is more reliable and convenient for both the employees and the employers.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. You have provided relevant arguments regarding employee well-being and productivity, supported by a general example of Scandinavian research. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your examples with more specific details or nuanced analysis. For instance, explaining exactly how a shorter week impacts specific industries or mentioning potential counter-arguments would demonstrate a more thorough exploration of the topic. The conclusion is also quite brief and could be used to better synthesize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader through your argument. While the progression is clear, the range of cohesive devices is somewhat limited, and some transitions feel a bit mechanical. To improve, try to incorporate a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect sentences and ideas more fluidly. Additionally, ensure that referencing is always precise; for example, in the second paragraph, 'the individual' is used in a way that feels slightly disconnected from the preceding sentence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. There are some good collocations like 'significant positive changes' and 'hectic work routines'. However, there are occasional errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'beleive' (believe) and 'wrok' (work). Furthermore, some phrasing is slightly unnatural, such as 'loyal with the work' (loyal to their work) and 'Working were enjoying their work' (Workers were enjoying their work). To achieve a higher score, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure your spelling is accurate throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For example, 'there is a general debate that' should be 'there is a general debate about whether', and 'there are number of reasons' is missing an article ('a number of'). Additionally, there are minor issues with subject-verb agreement and preposition usage. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for small articles and verb forms would significantly improve your accuracy.
