Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a position, but the development of ideas is significantly hindered by unclear expression and a lack of logical progression. While you mention the benefits of a shorter work week (more family time) and the drawbacks (financial instability), the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. The position is stated, but the reasoning is often circular or difficult to follow, making it hard for the reader to fully grasp your perspective. To improve, focus on structuring your arguments with clear topic sentences and supporting evidence that directly relates to the prompt, rather than listing general concepts like 'poverty' or 'unemployment' without explaining their connection to the working week.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which is a positive step, but the internal structure of these paragraphs is weak. There is a lack of cohesive devices (linking words) to connect ideas logically. Phrases like 'In case your family not glad' or 'On the other hand' are used, but the transitions between sentences are often abrupt or confusing. The progression of ideas is not clear, and the reader often has to re-read sentences to understand the intended meaning. Using a wider range of linking words such as 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'however' would help improve the flow and logical connection between your points.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and often inaccurate, which frequently impedes communication. You rely on basic words and struggle with collocations, such as 'make any kind of money' or 'make a trip'. There are also instances where word choice is inappropriate for an academic essay, such as 'less lengthy' instead of 'shorter' or 'too much other countries'. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your vocabulary to include more precise terms and focus on learning how words are used together in natural phrases. Avoid repeating the same words and try to use more varied, topic-specific language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

Grammar is the most significant area for improvement. There are frequent errors in sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and tense usage, such as 'if we will extend your weekend you will have' and 'I am disagree with this statement'. Many sentences are fragmented or lack the necessary articles and prepositions to be grammatically correct. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and practicing the correct use of conditional structures (if-clauses).
