Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is very rare to get a longer weekend because companies doesn't want to give break to their employees. weekend is important for everyones life but if the weekend would longer and working time will shorter; then it could be create some drawbacks. From my perspective, i totally disagree with the longer weekend.
To begin with, Longer weekned is cruical for every individuals life but we have to give the priority on our work first. If people spend too much time on weekend they will face some problems in their daily life. For example, poeple will loss their working ability; they may face some issue in time mangement; and it will also harm their work experience, etc. These are not only danger for employees but also put the companies into denger.
In addition, If the company give their workers a huge weekend, the company will suffer from lack of productivity; and if this happened the companies profit will be reduced; and this could also harm the GDP of a country. Moreover, if the worker will work for a long time and spend less time in the weekend, it will be beneficial for the both workers and companies. For instance, weekend is a basic need of a people, because everyone should give some times to their family and friends; and also for own refreshment. Thus, everyone should get a shorter weekend, rather than longer weekend.
In conclusion, if the workers will work for short time and spend lots of time in the weekend, it will put them in several danger and they will lost their longivity in their work field. For these reason, i totally disagree with the longer weekend for the workers.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against a shorter working week. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. While you mention productivity and GDP, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. The reasoning is occasionally contradictory, such as stating that a longer weekend is 'crucial' but then arguing that it is dangerous for employees. To improve, ensure that your supporting points directly reinforce your main position without creating logical inconsistencies. Expanding on the economic or personal implications with more detailed explanations would help move this into a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive feature. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'In addition', 'Moreover', 'For instance'). Some transitions feel forced, and the logical flow between sentences is occasionally disrupted by grammatical errors. For example, the transition between the importance of the weekend and the claim that it causes 'danger' is not clearly linked. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is frequent repetition of basic words like 'weekend', 'work', and 'danger'. Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'lost their longivity' (likely meaning longevity) and 'give break'. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to employment, economics, and work-life balance. Additionally, focus on using collocations correctly to ensure your writing sounds more natural and professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay, including subject-verb agreement ('companies doesn't', 'everyone should give some times'), article usage, and sentence structure issues. The use of complex sentences is attempted, but these often contain errors that can occasionally impede the reader's understanding, such as 'if the weekend would longer and working time will shorter; then it could be create some drawbacks.' To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex constructions. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms is essential.
