Student answer (Band 5.5)
Technology plays a crucial role in the changes of lifestyles. It is believed that the working week should be smaller and labours should have a longer weekends. I partially agree with this statement for which vindication would be elaborated in the upcoming paragraphs .
To commence with , there are several merits are associated with it . The first and foremost is , relaxed and fresh . To explain it , if weekends are longer then individuals feel relaxed after working on weekdays . They give rest and refresh their brain . Additionally, workers not only spend lot of time with their family but also learn more new skills. As an example, according to news , one man in my city work in a software company . And he spend lot of time on learning about environment study on the weekends then nowadays they get more knowledge about plants . And they give advice and solution to another persons about plants. Hence , it proves beneficial for humans .
On the other hand , there are numerous demerits of longer weekends. One of the prominent is , become lazy . To elaborate it , when weekends are longer then people take more rest because they have lot of free time . Furthermore, after weekends holidays , dwellers do not full concentrate on their work . Therefore , longer weekend are not more beneficial for workers .
In the nut shell , after taking all aspects in my consideration . I would like to emphasize that longer weekends are beneficial for persons such as feel relaxed and learn more new skills. But do not forget its disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a partial agreement. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention benefits like relaxation and skill acquisition, the explanations are somewhat superficial. For instance, the example regarding the man learning about plants is anecdotal and lacks a clear connection to the broader argument about the working week. The counter-argument regarding laziness is also underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, you should provide more substantial reasoning and ensure that your examples directly support your main points in a more academic tone.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'To commence with,' and 'In the nut shell.' Some transitions feel forced, and the logical flow between sentences is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'they' in the second paragraph, which makes it difficult to track whether you are referring to the workers or the plants. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking words will enhance the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good,' 'beneficial,' and 'lot of time.' There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'labours' instead of 'employees' or 'workers,' and 'environment study' instead of 'environmental studies.' Some phrases are non-idiomatic, such as 'vindication would be elaborated.' To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the topic of employment and lifestyle.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'one man... work in a software company'), incorrect article usage, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'longer weekend are not more beneficial'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tenses.
