Student answer (Band 5.5)

The working days in a week should be lesser furthermore employees should allowed a long weekend. From my prespective, short working days in a week will be less beneficial however longer weekend will be helpful to release stress for employees.

To begin with, short work days for company or any other institutes are less impressive because it will decrease the sales of company and company will face a big lose. The salaries of employees will also reduced and they will have to go through some kind of financial crises in their lifes additionally they will become the patients of stress and depression. On the other hand, in the covid-19 era some of the companies followed this method of short working days in week but in the result they have faced major problems such as less sales and no improvement in the increasing ratio,In contrast ,some companies like food deliveries have made much profit in that covid-19 era.

while, some of peoples agreed to the longer weekend beacuse they will get some extra vaccations and more days to enjoy with their families. In additions with the help of extra weekend days they will get more time to release their stress and reduced thier depression. They could go to some beaches in summer days with their friends and close ones however they can aslo arrange a barbque party at their homes. further more, men can also do some extra activites like playing cricket and football this will also be hepfull for their mental health and in their work it will helps them in decision making.

To sum up,the small working days in a week are good in some asspects while the long working days are the source of companies high profit rates.Lengthy weekends are also gratefull for workers because they will maintain their health and complete their sleep cycle.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both shorter working days and longer weekends. However, the position is somewhat contradictory; the introduction states that shorter working days are 'less beneficial,' yet the conclusion suggests they are 'good in some aspects.' This lack of a clear, consistent stance limits the development of the argument. While the essay provides reasons for both sides, the analysis is often superficial, such as the vague mention of 'financial crises' or 'patients of stress.' To reach a higher band, you should choose a clear position and support it with more logical, well-developed arguments rather than listing general points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'In additions with the help of' and 'further more' are used incorrectly or with awkward punctuation. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition from COVID-19 to food delivery companies feels abrupt. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'lesser' instead of 'fewer,' 'big lose' instead of 'significant loss,' and 'patients of stress' instead of 'suffering from stress.' Additionally, there are frequent spelling errors like 'prespective,' 'lifes,' 'beacuse,' 'vaccations,' and 'asspects.' To improve, focus on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and proofreading for common spelling mistakes. Expanding your range to include more academic vocabulary would also help elevate your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'employees should allowed'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'salaries... will also reduced'). Punctuation is also problematic, with many missing spaces after commas and periods. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often marred by errors. To progress, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that verbs are correctly conjugated and that punctuation is used to separate ideas clearly.
