Student answer (Band 6.0)
The question of working week should be shorter and weekend must be longer has become increasingly significant. Most people believe that workers should have longer weekend by reducing the working week, whereas some people disagree with this viewpoint. I totally agree that working week should be reduced to incorportae longer weekend so that workers can have good work life balance as well as develop new skills required for work.
Firstly, I strongly believe that working week should be reduced. This is because many professionals are not able to manage balance life, unable to provide adequate time to their family. Two third of the week a professional spent in office leaving bare minimum time for wife and children. For example, an IT professional child can interact and spend time with their parents only on weekend, whereas on weekdays mostly both parents works till late night not providing time to child. Therefore working week should reduced so it help individual to spent time with their family.
Another importnat resoan to increase weeknd is to improve the professional skills according to latest technology. In current decade, technology is shifting at very high speed leading rise to new skills. Longer weekend can helps professional to develop latest skills and implement them during working days. For instamce, software engineers needs to adopt AI skills to survive in this current industry and develop market required technologies. As a result, weekend can act as learning time for professional workers which may help to grow in their carrier.
In conclsuion, longer weekends are very cruial for the workers. This may leads them to maintain work life balance and develop new skills which helps them to grow in their carrier.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. The arguments regarding work-life balance and professional development are relevant and supported with examples, such as the mention of IT professionals and AI skill acquisition. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited; the explanation of how a shorter week specifically facilitates these outcomes could be more detailed to reach a higher band. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points, though it is quite brief. Overall, the response fulfills the requirements of the task by presenting a clear argument with supporting evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Another important reason', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader through the argument. However, the use of these devices is occasionally mechanical, and there are some issues with referencing and flow, such as the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the connection between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall cohesion of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'work-life balance', 'professional skills', and 'latest technology'. However, there are several spelling errors ('incorportae', 'importnat', 'resoan', 'instamce', 'cruial', 'carrier') and some awkward collocations ('shifting at very high speed', 'market required technologies'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise word choice and better attention to spelling to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('an IT professional child', 'in current decade'), subject-verb agreement ('software engineers needs'), and sentence fragments or missing words ('working week should reduced'). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the message. To improve, the writer should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring that complex structures are used with greater precision.
