Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position in the introduction, the arguments are underdeveloped and repetitive. The second paragraph attempts to discuss the benefits of a longer weekend, but the examples provided, such as the reference to Britain, are vague and lack sufficient detail. Furthermore, the essay is incomplete, as the final paragraph is cut off mid-sentence. To improve, you must ensure you fully develop each point with specific examples and reach the required length to allow for a thorough exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization through the use of paragraphs and transition signals like 'On the one hand' and 'Furthermore'. However, the progression of ideas is often hindered by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, making the flow feel mechanical. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the lack of a proper conclusion due to the incomplete final sentence disrupts the overall coherence. To improve, focus on using cohesive devices more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly supports your main argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'happy life', 'jobs', and 'people'. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'overcome from stress' (should be 'overcome stress') and 'travel out door' (should be 'travel outdoors'). You attempt to use some topic-related vocabulary, but the lack of precision and frequent errors in word formation limit your ability to convey ideas effectively. Expanding your range of synonyms and focusing on correct collocations will help you achieve a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('worker should have', 'there are have'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures ('people often tired with their jobs'). You rely heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'The main reason for this that people merely far away toward jobs'. Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions.
