Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, there is a growing debate whether there should be longer weekends. Some believe that companies should reduce the workload by shortening the working days. Although increasing days off may effects on productivity, I maintain that this view has more benefits.
One of the major advantages of long weekends is that it can allow employees to take proper rest and return with refresh mind. This is because there is a lot of pressure and workload on them. In a result, workers may spend quality time with their families and have enough time to recover from stress and may concentrate on other productive activities. For example, in shorter working week workers may start part-time job or small business to tackle financial difficulties.
Furthermore, more days off is directly proportional to more growth and increase productivity. Many researches showed that companies who offer longer period of weekends can maintain or may boost their output. Consequently, overall there is a healthy environment in a workplace. For example, in online jobs companies who provide work from home facility or reduce working hours are experiencing better results.
However, this approach may not be suitable for every field. For instance, medical field and emergency situations are required to provide daily-routine services. nevertheless it can be covered with proper strategies, such as considering flexible shifts and schedules. In result, services still continuously provided and workers also get relief.
In conclusion, the idea of introducing short working days may not applied in every sector, however it can be addressed with proper planning and strategies. Nevertheless this approach provides advantages not only for employees while employers can also achieve their targets

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of shorter working weeks. The main ideas—employee well-being and productivity—are relevant and supported with examples, such as the mention of part-time work and remote work environments. However, the development is somewhat limited; the argument regarding productivity could be more deeply explored with more specific evidence or logical links. The counter-argument regarding essential services is acknowledged, which adds balance to the discussion. Overall, the response fulfills the requirements of the task, though the depth of analysis could be improved to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Consequently', and 'However' are used to guide the reader through the argument. While the progression is generally clear, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the use of 'In a result' (which should be 'As a result') and 'In result'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the main points from the counter-argument and conclusion. The overall structure is coherent and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task. You use some topic-specific terms like 'workload', 'productivity', and 'flexible shifts'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'may effects on' (should be 'may affect') and 'refresh mind' (should be 'refreshed mind'). The range of vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, but it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more varied collocations and ensuring that word forms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'Many researches showed' (research is uncountable), 'may applied' (should be 'may be applied'), and 'while employers' (should be 'whereas employers'). Punctuation is generally functional, though there are some issues with capitalization after full stops (e.g., 'nevertheless'). The errors do not significantly impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures while focusing on subject-verb agreement would be beneficial.
