Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this decade many people are engaged in their full time duty for a whole week. So the working week should be less and weekend should be longer for all workers. For this statement I would like to agree and give my own opinion base answer by following examples.

In the long-term working hours make the individuals life very hectic. So that working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend. Although many people are get tired of their busy schedule and can not spent the quality time with their family and friends. However longer weekend can gives some space to complete their personal chores. For intense it could help to release the mental and physical health of a person. Since workers can easily relax in their weekend.

While an employers are get stuck in their daily schedule to fix the duty is a significant problem for them. Because working week days are like a trap and workers couldn't get their personal time. Therefore working week should be less for every people and workers should have a longer weekend. Then only it can be fix the issues of the workers. For example longer weekend can makes a persons life reliable and mor continent. However it boost the strength and ability of the people.

In conclusion, in my perspective workers need more time rest and relax on their weekend, so the working week should be shorter for every individuals. Therefore everyone can get extra time and less working hours to relax their mental and physical health.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of a shorter working week. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. While you mention mental and physical health, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The phrase 'For intense it could help' is unclear, and the supporting points often restate the main thesis rather than expanding on the consequences of a shorter work week (e.g., economic impact or productivity). To improve, ensure each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point that directly relates to the prompt, rather than repeating the same general sentiment throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often misused or placed awkwardly, such as 'For intense' instead of 'For instance' and 'However' used incorrectly at the start of sentences where no contrast exists. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with the use of 'it' and 'they' when referring back to previous ideas. The flow between sentences is often disjointed, making the reader work harder to follow your argument. Using a wider variety of linking words correctly and ensuring that each sentence builds logically upon the previous one would significantly improve the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'continent' (likely meaning 'content' or 'convenient'), 'fix the duty', and 'reliable' (used in a context where it does not fit). These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. While you attempt to use some topic-related vocabulary like 'hectic' and 'schedule', the range is not sufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To reach a higher band, focus on learning collocations—words that naturally go together—and ensure you are using words in the correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('an employers are get stuck', 'longer weekend can makes'), incorrect verb forms ('can not spent'), and sentence structure errors. There is a limited range of complex structures, and the attempts made are often grammatically incorrect. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs (e.g., 'can make' instead of 'can makes'). Proofreading for these basic errors will help improve your score.
