Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the modern era, it is argued that employess should have a extanded weekend and less lengthy working week. In fact i agree with notion for two main reason.

One of the reasons why i agree is better work life balance because in weekday they not get enough time to spend with there family member but and weekend staff spend more time with their family , hobbies, and freind on weekend it is improving their life style. As an example, many working profession go outside with there family on weekend. If they have a samll child so they go park as well as for movies and also they go temple with their old parents so it make them relex.

Another resons why i agree is it benificial for thir mental and physical helath. during weekday they not get enough time to relax as well as for mental peas but in weekday they got time and they work on their hobby it good for there mental helth. As an example, on weekend many workers prefer to take rest is good for their physical health. any many employess work on their hobby and spend time with family it provide them mentoal peace.

To conclude, not only for work life balance it give them time to spend qulity time with their family member as well as friends but also it improve there phsyical and mental heath it improve their skill such as decision making and also good for physical helath such as hedaeck. Therefore, i agree to extend weekend for workers and reduce working days

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position agreeing with the shorter working week. Main ideas are presented regarding work-life balance and mental/physical health, fulfilling the core requirements of Task 2. However, the development of these ideas is rather repetitive and relies on general over-generalisations without deep elaboration. For example, the points regarding spending time with family and hobbies are reiterated across multiple paragraphs. The position is clear throughout, but the supporting arguments remain somewhat superficial and under-developed, which corresponds to the requirements for Band 6.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an overall structure. However, paragraphing and logical progression are hindered by poor sentence construction and a lack of sophisticated cohesive devices. The second body paragraph starts abruptly, and referencing is sometimes unclear, such as pronoun usage like 'during weekday they not get enough time'. Cohesive devices are basic and occasionally repetitive. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs is frequently faulty and mechanical, placing this response firmly at Band 5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate to communicate basic ideas about work, family, and health, but it features frequent spelling mistakes ('employess', 'extanded', 'freind', 'samll', 'relex', 'resons', 'benificial', 'thir', 'helath', 'peas', 'hedaeck') and word choice errors ('mental peas', 'take rest is good'). There is little evidence of less common lexical items, and the frequent spelling errors cause some strain for the reader. The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for the task, reflecting a Band 5 performance.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts some complex sentences, but they are frequently faulty and lack proper punctuation and capitalization (e.g., lowercase 'i', run-on sentences like 'If they have a samll child so they go park as well as for movies...'). There are frequent grammatical errors involving subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions throughout the text. Simple sentences dominate, and the attempts at complex structures contain frequent errors that cause difficulty and hesitation for the reader, placing this response at Band 5.
