Student answer (Band 5.5)
The working week is required to be shorter for providing longer weekend to worker is often heated topic of discussion. I firmly believe that weekend duration should be increased to provide more relaxational time to workers.
The primary reason to support this idea is that longer weekends could assist labors to revive adequate amount of their work energy which will bring more freshness and motivation to do their job. In fact. during smart lockdown in Germany, in post COVID era, the production of business firms climbed significantly that depicts the response of shortening the work week. Although, business sectors with less working days observe almost equal financial profit in comparison to their rival economic units, who are relaying on more shift days. Their worker are more energetic and ready to do task in contrast to others.
The second major factor to favor this is that lengthy weekends could provide employee more valuable time to spend with their family which will ultimately lead to bring lightness and freshness in their mood. Demographical researchers had observed the difference in behavior of short weekdays staff from routine workers. They experienced a sharp decline in trends of anger issues and mental disorders such as hypertension and anxiety and a gradual increase in affection spikes toward the family members. However, reducing working days could lead to rise in pending tasks, the particular reason for that is, availability of less time for completion of work in a week. Even though, i accept these consequences still i am strongly in support of this idea, as it will be helpful to bring newness in labors life.
To conclude, I strongly believe that reducing working days will be beneficial for employees working energy as well as their mental health and domestic life. Despite having some serious concerns of time management, regulatory authorities could implement it with proper control.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by clearly stating and maintaining a personal position throughout the essay. The writer presents a distinct viewpoint in favor of a shorter working week and supports it with relevant arguments, such as employee energy recovery and improved family relationships. Ideas are extended with examples, such as the reference to Germany during the post-COVID era, although some arguments tend to overgeneralise or lack rigorous depth. The conclusion neatly reiterates the main stance. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, fulfilling the requirements for a Band 6.5 or solid Band 6 performance by presenting a clear position and relevant, albeit somewhat under-developed, supporting ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure consisting of an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Logical progression is generally maintained; for instance, the first body paragraph discusses work energy and productivity, while the second focuses on family life and mental health. However, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faulty, such as the abrupt transition 'In fact. during smart lockdown' which features a punctuation error. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences feel disjointed due to awkward phrasing. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, aligning well with the descriptors for Band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'relaxational', 'demographical', and 'regulatory authorities'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word formation, such as 'labors' instead of labourers, 'lengthy weekends' instead of longer weekends, and 'relaxational time' instead of relaxation time. Spelling and word-choice errors occur throughout the text, but they rarely impede overall communication. The writer demonstrates enough lexical control to convey their central arguments, fitting the Band 6 descriptor where vocabulary is sufficient but contains errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation slips throughout the text. Examples include missing articles ('worker are more energetic', 'bring newness in labors life'), incorrect prepositions, and structural issues like 'The working week is required to be shorter for providing longer weekend to worker is often heated topic'. Punctuation errors, such as the stray full stop in 'In fact. during', also detract from control. Despite these frequent errors, the meaning is generally clear and does not impede communication, supporting a Band 5.5 to 6.0 score.
