Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this contemproary era, every individuals do work to survive in the world and have to work for long period of time to earn something and live their lievlihood. whether, it is argue that woring week uoght to be shorter and weekend should be longer. According to my point of view i partially agree with notion.
Commencing with the most salient reason, initially, if the workers have shorter working week then they not only spend time with their family but also it also assists to alleviate stress for some period of time. however, they can aslo spend that lesiure time with their family members and get satisfaction. As when they have much time, then they can easily focus on their work more efficently and effectively after the long weekend. for example, in the recent study proves that if the workers have longer weekend, then they can easily refresh their mind which enable them to work with full of dedication and cannot be distracted by anyone, moreover the new ideas wlll generate to caccomplish the particular task with more creativity and accurately and also develop their skills. secondly, they will work with full of creativeness as they devlop new ideas and suggestions rather then just completing work by the pressure id their seniors.
Despite another worth considering the negative effects of this trend, if they have generally have long weekend, they became lazy and careless to their work and do the work properly because they have lack of energy to do work . frequently, they cannot pay attention to their work and they will get fire from their job. for instance, in africa, the recent study proves that longer weekend for the works is not beneficial because it create plethora of burden of work on comapny or worker, which takes lot of time to complete it
to conclude, i believe that if they have shorter working hours in week no doubt they can utilize that with their family members, on the other side, if they have long weekend then they generally becme lazy and careless and not able to do work.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of a shorter working week and longer weekend, stating a partial agreement position. The ideas presented are relevant, exploring family time, stress reduction, and increased efficiency versus potential laziness and workplace burden. However, some arguments remain somewhat repetitive and under-developed, relying on sweeping generalisations rather than deep exploration. For example, the claim that workers in Africa experience a plethora of burdens due to longer weekends lacks sufficient extension or specific contextual backing. Despite these limitations, all parts of the task are addressed and a clear, albeit basic, position is maintained throughout, fitting the Band 6 profile comfortably.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a generally coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to organise ideas into an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised, separating the positive and negative aspects of the prompt. However, cohesion is often faulty or mechanical, with frequent reliance on basic and sometimes repetitive transitional phrases such as 'commencing with the most salient reason, initially' and 'despite another worth considering'. Furthermore, referencing and logical progression occasionally falter within sentences, such as awkward pronoun usage and abrupt shifts between clauses. Overall, the structural framework is visible, but the flow is hindered by mechanical cohesive devices and occasional awkward referencing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their basic arguments regarding work schedules and lifestyle. However, there are numerous noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, such as 'contemproary', 'individuals do work', 'lievlihood', 'woring', 'uoght', 'lesiure', 'wlll', 'caccomplish', 'devlop', 'becme', and 'comapny'. The writer attempts some less common lexical items like 'salient', 'alleviate', and 'plethora', but these are often accompanied by collocation errors or inaccurate usage. Because these errors do not severely impede overall communication despite their frequency, the vocabulary performance aligns with a Band 5.5 descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an ability to construct multi-clause sentences, such as 'As when they have much time, then they can easily focus on their work more efficently and effectively after the long weekend.' However, grammatical accuracy is weak, featuring frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('every individuals do work'), articles, prepositions, and sentence fragments or run-on structures ('whether, it is argue that woring week uoght to be shorter...'). Punctuation is also problematic, with incorrect capitalization at the start of sentences and misuse of commas. These frequent errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader, though the underlying meaning usually remains discernible, supporting a Band 5.0 score.
