Student answer (Band 6.0)

The working week hour have to be shorter for the sake of workers longer weekend.I completely agree with this statement because I personally believe that longer weekend will keep workers physically and mentally healthy. This essay will first discuss how longer weekend is beneficial for workers health and then the progress and development of the factory.

on the one hand, longer weekend will help the worker to reduce the job stress by spending time with the family, friends and relatives, it will also help the worker to be physically healthy by going to the gym, park or playing different type of sports. for instance, I read an article in dawn newspaper that, the worker who spent longer weekend in the develop countries such as Germany, Italy and France are more healthy and happy workers as campare to that countries workers who work longer hour a week.

On the other hand, giving longer weekend vocation to workers also help in the progress and development of the company. Workers feel happy and satisfied from the job and they take more intrust in the job as a resault workers stay for a long time with the company and contributr to the progress and prosperity of the company. For instance once i read a research article of one of a phsychotric he wrote that the longer hour weekend help the workers to reduce the stress and also it make physically healthy which is beneficial for both employed and company because the take more intrust in the job.

In conclusion, longer weekend is far better that shorter weekend because apart from work employed health is also important and I also believe that workers take intrust with great enthusiasm in the progress of the company.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by taking a clear and consistent position in agreement with shorter working weeks and longer weekends. The main ideas, such as physical and mental health benefits and increased company productivity, are relevant and extended with supporting arguments and examples, such as referencing workers in Germany, Italy, and France. However, some ideas border on generalisation and lack deeper analytical depth, placing the response solidly in the Band 6 or Band 7 range. The development is sufficient to meet the requirements of the task, presenting an overall clear overview of both personal and economic viewpoints as outlined in the introductory paragraph.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organised into an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting distinct viewpoints on the one hand and the other hand, and a concluding paragraph. Paragraphing is utilised appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'In conclusion' are present and guide the reader through the structure of the argument. However, referencing is occasionally imprecise, and internal cohesion within sentences sometimes feels mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent reuse of phrases like 'longer weekend' and 'take more intrust'. Overall progression is clear, meeting the descriptors for Band 6.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully communicating the student's ideas regarding work-life balance and productivity. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'prosperity', 'psychiatric', and 'enthusiasm', but there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'intrust' instead of 'interest', 'contributr' instead of 'contribute', 'campare' instead of 'compare', and 'vocation' instead of 'vacation'. These errors occasionally distract the reader, though they do not seriously impede overall communication, placing this criterion at Band 5.5, rounded to 6.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, attempting complex formulations such as relative clauses and conditional-like justifications. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent basic errors, including subject-verb agreement issues like 'The working week hour have to be shorter', missing articles, punctuation lapses, and run-on sentences with comma splices, such as '...friends and relatives, it will also help...'. While these errors do not completely obscure the intended meaning, they occur frequently enough to prevent the grammar score from reaching Band 6.5, making Band 6.0 an appropriate reflection of the current control.
