Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, more work is assigning to the workers in their workplace which affecting them directly in their personal life. Some people believe that working week should be shorter and provide longer weekend to the workers. I firmly agree with this view that they have longer weekend and shorter working week.

One of the most significant reason about wokers should have longer weekend compared to their working week, They can't able to give time to their family which affecting them in their personal life. The childrens of these worker are becoming worst and going in wrong way due to their parents are always busy in their work, where they don't have much time to spend with their childrens. Furthermore, they may face severe health issues such as heart attacks, as well as sun stroke if they are working in hot summer for a long time. The workers won't get time for any vacations with their family which affecting their relationship. In addition, the time for friends where they can get relaxed, feel elated, visit any place can also be impossible if their working weeks are longer. The workers should get atleast 2 week offs per week where they can spend time with their family, have fun with their childrens, meet their friends which also help them to get refreshed for next week, as a result they can work more effectively.

To sum up, i agree that workers should get more week offs and holidays where they can spend qualiy time

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response presents a clear position throughout, agreeing with the view that the working week should be shorter. All parts of the task are addressed, and relevant ideas are introduced, such as the impact on family life, children's behavior, and health issues. However, the development of these ideas tends to be repetitive and somewhat unsupported beyond generalized assertions. For instance, statements regarding health issues like sunstroke and heart attacks lack elaboration. While the main position is clear and sustained, the depth of extension places this response comfortably in Band 6.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay has a basic overall progression, beginning with an introduction, a body paragraph covering various points, and a brief conclusion. However, the cohesion within the single massive body paragraph is faulty and mechanical. Sentences are strung together with repetitive conjunctions and weak referencing, such as 'The childrens of these worker are becoming worst and going in wrong way due to their parents...' Paragraphing is also poorly managed, as the entire body of the argument is crammed into one very long paragraph instead of being broken down into distinct, logical points. These issues restrict the text to Band 5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for communicating basic ideas, but it is limited and repetitive. Words such as 'affecting', 'worker', and 'time' are reused frequently. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices throughout, such as 'more work is assigning', 'going in wrong way', and 'qualiy time'. The attempted use of less common items like 'elated' and 'severe health issues' shows an attempt to expand the range, but frequent inaccuracies in collocation and word formation prevent the score from reaching a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though complex structures are frequently marred by grammatical errors. Examples include passive voice errors ('more work is assigning'), subject-verb agreement issues ('The childrens of these worker'), and missing articles or prepositions ('time for friends where they can get relaxed'). Frequent errors in punctuation and tense consistency also occur, as seen in the incomplete concluding sentence ('To sum up, i agree...'). Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader, Band 5 is appropriate.
