Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, there are several growing concerns about to provide a longer weekend to employees. However, period of working week should be reduced. I firmly agree that it is effective for good mental health and also increases the productive power of work.
On the one hand, to reduce working hours and gives them a lengthy weekend is beneficial because it provides strength to a person and they can work effectively. Moreover, it increases their work productivity, which helps them to perform work attentively. It encourages them to concentrate properly on work. For instance, many companies offer a limited duration, which make them to maintain their sharp and active states. They spend only eight hours daily and promote a country economy. Consequently, a short work duration is an effective way to minimise the risk of mistakes and also effective for work potential.
On the other hand, this strategy is valuable due to provide a great time, which allows a person to spend the valuable moments with their family. Although spending time with members play a significant impact on mental health, it also improves stress. For example, many individuals have longer weekends and they plan to perform outdoor various activities, which enhance their learning capacities. Therefore, it has positive effect on both physical and mental health and it also boosts their work quality.
To sum up, it is advantageous for providing a long weekends and a shorter working week since it is crucial for working accuracy. According to my knowledge, this is essential for work productivity and good for psychological state.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position agreeing with the idea of a shorter working week and a longer weekend. Main ideas regarding mental health and work productivity are presented, but they tend to be repetitive and lack deep development or specific, well-reasoned examples. For instance, the argument that shorter hours increase productivity is stated multiple times using slightly different wording rather than being extended with concrete illustrations. Additionally, the opening sentence contains a slight confusion regarding the exact stance ('concerns about to provide... However, period of working week should be reduced'). Nevertheless, the position remains clear throughout the essay. This corresponds well to a Band 6, where the task is addressed with relevant ideas, though some parts are under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a generally coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt at paragraphing, separating the introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, cohesion at the sentence level is sometimes mechanical or faulty. For example, the transition 'On the other hand, this strategy is valuable due to provide a great time' is awkward and inaccurate, as both body paragraphs essentially support the same side of the argument (one focusing on work productivity and the other on personal life/stress), making the 'On the one hand / On the other hand' structure logically inappropriate. Referencing and conjunctions are sometimes repetitive. Paragraphing is present, but overall progression is hindered by repetitive arguments. This performance aligns with a Band 6 descriptor.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common phrases such as 'productive power', 'sharp and active states', and 'psychological state'. However, there are notable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and phrasing throughout the text, such as 'growing concerns about to provide', 'due to provide a great time', and 'improves stress' (instead of 'reduces stress'). Word formation errors also occur, such as 'country economy' instead of 'national economy'. While these lexical errors do not prevent communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the score from reaching Band 7. This reflects a solid Band 6 performance for lexical resource.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordinate clauses ('Although spending time with members play a significant impact...'). However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('make them to maintain' instead of 'makes them maintain', 'members play' instead of 'members plays'), awkward infinitive structures ('concerns about to provide'), and awkward relative clauses. Punctuation is generally acceptable, but frequent minor structural errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader. The control over complex structures is limited, placing this response firmly in the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range, best represented by a 6.0.
