Student answer (Band 5.0)

People nowadays wants to relax more and spend time on working on their hobbies. The working week should be replaced by longer weekend. I will discussed both the points along with relevant examples in upcoming paragraphs.

To conclude, the work life balance must be the vital role for every individual who is working in companies from early to evening specially the person who wants to have time for this hobbies and other activities.

According to first statement, Not only there will be higher productivity for the work place but also their will helping atmosphere in the panels for the working employes. Moreover, the workers having short working hours can fulfil their leisure time activities for example they can play sport which leads to strengthen their physical and mental health as well as they can remain physically active for long hours.

On other hand, having short working hours can reduced productivity for particular bussiness and makes a financial impact on business which can creates hectic atmosphere in the working place. This can be results in lossing job for the employes. Along with this, there are certain types of jobs need on working hours for instance, working in the hospital, working in clubs and restuarants etcetera.

My opinion, working long or short hours should be describe in advance on interviews to the workers beacause many works needs extra srength and stamina which every can not make through. There are jobs which are not made for everyone and these job structures have long working hours like constructions, minning, oil riging etc.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address both sides of the argument regarding shorter working weeks, touching upon productivity, employee well-being, and economic impacts. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and the structure is disrupted by placing the conclusion near the beginning instead of the end. The writer's position is discernible, but the overall task coverage is superficial rather than fully extended. There are also abrupt shifts in focus, such as discussing job interviews and heavy industries in the final body paragraph, which lack integration with the core prompt. For these reasons, the response aligns best with a Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The organisational structure of the essay is significantly flawed. The conclusion is placed after the introduction instead of at the end of the essay, which disrupts the logical flow and progression. Paragraphing is used, but the internal logical arrangement within paragraphs is weak. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or mechanical, such as the awkward transitional phrase 'According to first statement,' which impedes smooth reading. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, leaving the reader to deduce the connections between ideas. These features reflect Band 5.0 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally cause confusion, such as 'employes' instead of employees, 'bussiness' instead of business, and 'lossing' instead of losing. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'productivity' and 'leisure time', but control over collocations and word formation is weak, as seen in phrases like 'play sport' or 'on working hours'. The lexical range is minimally adequate for the task, fitting the Band 5.0 description.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a limited range of sentence structures, with frequent grammatical errors. Simple sentences are frequent, and attempts at complex structures often result in faulty grammar and awkward phrasing, such as 'People nowadays wants to relax' (subject-verb agreement error), 'there will helping atmosphere', and 'working long or short hours should be describe'. Punctuation is also problematic in places. While meaning is generally conveyed despite the errors, the frequency of grammatical inaccuracies places this response at Band 5.0.
