Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly agreeing that workers should have a shorter working week and a longer weekend. The student introduces relevant main ideas, such as stress relief, personal life enjoyment, family time, and increased work performance. However, these ideas are underdeveloped and repetitive, with frequent generalisations lacking specific, fully realized examples. For instance, the mention of '10 to 15 days vacation twise in a year' is abrupt and does not effectively support the argument for weekly shorter working hours or longer weekends. Overall, the task is addressed, but the development lacks depth, aligning the response with a Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is some basic organization, but overall progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and weak cohesive devices. Transitions such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude' are used, but intermediate cohesive links are frequently inaccurate, mechanical, or confusing (e.g., 'First and for most', 'As a out come of this'). Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs suffers from broken sentences and poor referencing, such as unclear pronoun use. These limitations place the response firmly at a Band 5.0 for coherence and cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, frequently revolving around words like 'employ', 'worker', 'family', 'stress', and 'mental health'. There are numerous spelling errors throughout the text (e.g., 'argude' for argued, 'employs' for employees, 'completly', 'beanefit', 'orgenigations', 'incress', 'performence', 'enviornment', 'stress full', 'exosted', 'llikely', 'ultimatlly', 'benefitial', 'enogh'). While the meaning is generally understandable despite these lexical and orthographic issues, the range is limited and inadequate for precision, fitting the Band 4.0 or lower descriptors. However, given that it attempts less common items with noticeable errors, a generous Band 4.5 or 5.0 is reflected by basic adequacy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The grammatical range is extremely limited, relying heavily on simple structures and faulty attempts at complex sentences. There are constant, pervasive grammatical errors in almost every sentence, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('employs have few working days', 'company provide'), missing articles ('in week', 'on weekends'), and incorrect prepositions or word forms ('worker overcome', 'allow worker to spent'). Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also weak, with run-on sentences and comma splices. Because errors are frequent and often cause strain for the reader, the grammar performance corresponds to a Band 4.5.
