Student answer (Band 6.0)
In contemporary society, people's are doing so much of hardwork in their usual routine. Due to this, they are getting frustated because of their long working hours. And i think that the government should provide more financial benefits rather than reducing the working week. I partially agree with this statement and both have their pros and cons.
Firstly, many countries are implementing the new law toward workers working policy such as Japan and China. They are providing the holidays to their employees, if they do not feel well and more stress related to their work. For example, in Japan employers are allow to have sleep break during lunch time and they are providing the smart robots which helps to them to unwind. These are the best policies for workers and it can also improve their productivity. Nowadays, many multinational companies like Amazon, Google and Microsoft are providing so many amenities and facilties to there employees like gym, yoga, pool and work from home also. They can do their work from any place and providing the flexibility of timings.
On the other hand there are some drawbacks of these things, people can missue of these policies. They become lazy and do not focus properly on their work. For example in IT sector there is one a rule like people only work for 8 hours in a week and they are getting a two days off on every saturday and sunday, and if the workers are introducing the new rules then it could damage the economy of companies. There mindshet should be like especially the senior manager take the advantage of this and give all there work to junior employees.
In conclusion, these law should be carefully implemented by the government. Because, they have to maintain to the country's economy. Like it should be balance by giving the workers some kind of extra care facilities or just reduce the working time from 8 hours to 7 hours.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student attempts to address the prompt by discussing whether the working week should be shortened, though the position taken is somewhat contradictory. In the introduction, the writer states that the government should provide more financial benefits rather than reducing the working week, yet also claims to partially agree with the statement. Ideas are presented regarding company policies in Japan and China, as well as drawbacks such as employees becoming lazy or managers taking unfair advantage of new rules. However, some arguments remain underdeveloped or slightly confused, such as the claim that people only work for 8 hours in a week in the IT sector. Overall, the response addresses the task adequately, meeting the criteria for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into four paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing a clear overarching structure. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by abrupt transitions and occasional awkward phrasing. Cohesive devices are used, but they are at times mechanical or incorrectly applied, such as the use of 'And i think' at the beginning of a sentence in the introduction or 'On the other hand there are some drawbacks of these things'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear. Cohesion satisfies the requirements for a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating topic-related terms such as 'productivity', 'multinational companies', 'amenities', and 'economy'. However, there are notable lexical errors and inappropriate word choices throughout the text, including 'people's are doing', 'hardwork' (written as one word), 'frustated', 'missue', and 'mindsherts'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they demonstrate a lack of precision and control over less common vocabulary items, placing this response firmly in the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in basic grammar, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation, such as 'people's are doing', 'employers are allow', 'helps to them to unwind', and lowercase letters at the start of sentences or for pronouns like 'i'. Articles and prepositional usages also show persistent issues, such as 'in IT sector' and 'take the advantage'. While complex structures are attempted, they often contain errors. The control of grammar aligns with a Band 5.5.
