Student answer (Band 6.0)
The idea of reducing the working week and allowing workers to have a longer weekend is good because it does not only improve the overall well-being of the employees but also optimizes their productivity, which I largely agree with.
One of the major benefit of a short working week is that it it enhances the overall well-being of employees. This is due to the fact that they may get more time away from job to relax or work on their hobbies, thus lowering the pressure from work. This may help reduce stress and burnout. For example, if employees are added an extra day for a weekend, they may relax fully leading to a better quality of life and contributing to the long-term development of the society.
Furthermore, longer weekends can help in improving the productivity. This is largely because workers who have relaxed can have more energy to tuggle issues for the comming week. Consider local farmers who do not have machines, they use a lot of energy to dig the farms daily, which can exaust them easily. If they are given more time to re-energise, they will ultimately enhance their productivity bringing about significant positive changes, benefiting both the employers and the society in the long run.
To conclude, I strongly agree with the idea that working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend since it benefits both the employers and employees by not only improving the overall well-being of the employees, but also optimizes the companie's productivity.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position agreeing with the prompt and supporting it with relevant ideas. The writer discusses employee well-being and productivity in separate body paragraphs. However, some ideas lack full extension and suffer from slight logical leaps. For example, the illustration involving local farmers who do not have machines and dig daily is somewhat tangential to the context of a standard modern working week, which pulls the development down slightly. Despite this, a clear overall position is maintained throughout the essay and the main arguments are successfully communicated, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptor profile for this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct main points. Cohesive devices are employed to connect ideas, such as 'Furthermore' and 'To conclude', although referencing is occasionally faulty, as seen in the phrase 'the comming week'. Furthermore, some of the transitional links feel a bit mechanical. While the logical progression is generally maintained from sentence to sentence, the abrupt introduction of the farming example disrupts the thematic flow slightly. Overall, the organizational structure satisfies the requirements for a Band 6 score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student attempts an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, incorporating terms such as 'well-being', 'optimizes', and 'long-term development'. However, there are several lexical errors and awkward word choices throughout the text. Examples include spelling errors like 'comming' and 'exaust', and collocation issues such as 'tuggle issues' (likely intended as 'tackle issues') and 'added an extra day'. These errors indicate an attempt to use less common vocabulary with mixed success, though they rarely impede overall communication. This performance fits comfortably within the Band 6 band descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures such as 'if employees are added an extra day...'. There are, however, noticeable grammatical and punctuation errors present in the text, including 'One of the major benefit' (subject-verb agreement error), 'from job' (missing article), and redundant phrasing like 'does not only improve... but also optimizes'. While these errors occur with some frequency, the majority of simple sentences are accurate and the complex structures do not impede the overall flow of meaning, reflecting typical Band 6 grammatical control.
