Student answer (Band 5.5)

Indubitably, it is often argued that the working days should be synopsis and employers should have longer weekend. I totally agree to this notion and reasons for my inclination will be be explained in the upcoming paragraphs.

At the outset, there are numerous factors for lesser working hours and the first and foremost is that individuals should spend more time with their families. To explain it more, nowadays, people are more busier in there office works and they do not have proper time for their parents, wife and childrens as a result the bond between families are broken and in many cases this was the main reason for divorce and clashes in families. However, if individuals spend more time with their loved ones they feel relaxed and the bond becomes more stronger. For example, parents are mostly free on weekends and at that time they have lots of work to do like play with childrens, spend some quality time with their parents.

Moving further, another significant reasons they feel more energetic and ready for extra work. To be more precise, people can spend most of their time in office and that is the main reason for frustration and bad behaviour with colleuges, whereas if thir working hours should be shorter so they feel more happy and also do extra work for the company. For instance, the Google provide flexible working hours along with some gaming activities in their company and the working hours are totally depend on employee as a result all workers are happy with their company and do their woek effectively and efficiently.

To recapitulate, although there are several factors such as they have spend more time with their families and employee feel more energetic and happy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by clearly taking a position agreeing that the working week should be shorter. Main ideas are introduced, such as spending more time with family and boosting worker productivity and happiness. However, these ideas lack full extension and suffer from some developmental flaws. For example, the mention of family issues like divorce is overly generalized and abruptly ended without thorough exploration. The conclusion is truncated and incomplete, ending mid-thought ("such as they have spend more time with their families and employee feel more energetic and happy"). Despite these weaknesses, the overall task is addressed, placing this comfortably in Band 6.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays a generally coherent overall arrangement with standard paragraphing structure, using transitional phrases such as 'At the outset' and 'Moving further'. However, cohesion is frequently faulty and mechanical. Referencing errors and awkward phrasing disrupt the flow, such as 'reasons for my inclination will be be explained' and the incomplete concluding sentence which leaves the final paragraph dangling. Paragraphing is attempted, but the conclusion fails to summarize the essay effectively. These organizational limitations correspond to a Band 5.5, rounded to 6.0 based on positive markers.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student attempts a range of vocabulary, but lexical control is uneven. There are notable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'working days should be synopsis' instead of 'synopsized' or 'shortened', 'more busier', and 'colleuges'. Words are often repeated inappropriately, and forms are confused ('childrens' instead of 'children'). While there is an attempt to use less common vocabulary like 'indubitably', inaccuracies in spelling and word choice cause some distraction for the reader, placing the response at Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writing contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but grammatical accuracy is weak. Frequent errors in verb tense, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions appear throughout the text, such as 'the working hours are totally depend', 'thir working hours should be shorter so they feel', and 'the Google provide'. Punctuation is also problematic, particularly run-on clauses without proper conjunctions. These persistent errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, aligning with the Band 5 descriptors.
