Student answer (Band 5.5)
Yes, I would agree somehow working week should be shorter for the workers and they should have a longer weekend. In the statement writing i will explain why i agree or disagree with this statement and i'll draw a conclusion as well.
I somehow agree with the statement workers should have a longer weekend in order to maintain a work life balance and they should spend their time with families and lookafter other household activities such as maitainace, repairing etc.
But somehow if we take a prespective of companies and entrepreneurs those people will disagree with this statement because if working days will be reduce or less the pending task will not be complete on time and this act will affect the company operations and that's how they will start bareling loses.
In order to to evaluate both parties advantage the solution would be employer can offer hybrid working models to their employees. According to this model employees can do their work from homes and their time of commute will be save and workers can feel more relaxed and comfortable that how they complete their pending task on time and maintain their work life balance properly.
In concluison, working week should be shorter with the condition of hybrid model and workers can enjoy their longer weekend with their family. By applying this model companies and owners are stress free and their work will be done on time. In future i think this model will be applied for every company infact many companies already applied this module to save the cost and give benifit to their work force.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a position, acknowledging both the benefits of a shorter working week for employees and the potential drawbacks for companies, and offering a compromise solution. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the student states they 'somehow agree' in the introduction, which slightly dilutes the clarity of the initial position, although a clearer stance emerges later. The arguments regarding company operations and hybrid working are relevant but lack depth and specific supporting examples. Consequently, the response sits comfortably within Band 6, as it addresses the prompt adequately but leaves some ideas under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into an introduction, body paragraphs addressing different perspectives, a proposed solution, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised, though some paragraphs are quite brief. Cohesive devices such as 'In order to', 'according to this model', and 'in conclusion' are used to connect ideas, but referencing is at times mechanical or repetitive, particularly the frequent use of 'somehow' and 'this model'. The logical progression is generally maintained, but the transitions between paragraphs can feel abrupt, placing this criterion at Band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms like 'work-life balance', 'entrepreneurs', 'hybrid working models', and 'commute'. However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and awkward word choices, such as 'bareling loses' instead of 'barreling towards losses' or 'suffering losses', 'lookafter', 'maitainace', and 'in fact'. Spelling errors like 'concluison', 'benifit', and 'infact' occur, and some phrases are repetitive. Despite these flaws, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning without severely impeding communication, aligning with Band 5.5 or 6.0; given the attempts at less common vocabulary, a Band 6.0 is appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The text demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, with attempts at subordination and conditional-like structures, as seen in 'if working days will be reduce or less the pending task will not be complete on time'. However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies, missing prepositions, and faulty subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'working week should be shorter', 'time of commute will be save', 'that how they complete'). Punctuation is also weak, particularly regarding run-on sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions. Because these errors are frequent but rarely impede overall communication, the response meets the criteria for Band 5.5, rounded to 5.5.
